Hey, DR Elmore, we just sent Rob to pick up pizza from Shaddock's - how soon can you be here?

Alas, not soon enough!

DR Elmore, in other matters, Richard and I have arranged our schedules and will be able to be in Canton for the July 9-11 weekend.  Can you email me the particulars?

And for those DRs on Facebook, you may want to read this:

Please send DS Craig some major interview vibes.  He has an important job interview on Monday afternoon.  After he nails the interview I pray he doesn't, once again, lose a coveted position due to someone with more experience.

Callie has been acting really strange lately, hiding, cringing when I go to pick her up for meds etc.  I was concerned she might be getting sick again, but i think she's just upset that i've been going out in the evenings and not coming home for lunch.  Today I came home for lunch, brushed her and played with both cats. This afternoon I came home a little early and she's been sitting near me (she's not a lap cat) and purring for nearly an hour.    I think she's fine.  Of course I have to go somewhere at 6:00 PM, so we'll see how she is when I come home tonight

I'm getting a little irritated at HWHC.  Both last night and tonight he asked me to meet him to go over a project I'm taking over for him on a board we're on.  I know the subject matter, but don't know how much has been done, who the report I'm going to do is intended for ...basic things.  Anyway, both nights he's cancelled at the last minute.  Very good reasons both times, but it's still irritating.  I have to report to the board on Wednesday on my progress and I can't progress if he doesn't get me the stuff.

I will confess when I came home early tonight I sat in my recliner and thought I would wait until he called to cancel. LOL.  It's a dreary rainy day.  I'm actually glad I don't have to try to be charming

Back from various and sundried errands.  I went to get the motor car washed and was greeted by huge lines.  On Friday.  At two.  Why?  Because it's "Happy Hour" every day from two to four now at this car wash.  And what happens at happy hour?  You save one dollar.  So, apparently, the entitled rich of Valley Village and Studio City all show up in their Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, etc to save that dollar.  Hot damn.  I was there about forty minutes.  I shall now avoid "happy hour" like the plague and I'll pay the extra dollar.

Every little dollar counts & you have to save somewhere to afford those cars.

Then I watched AVATAR. Breathtaking new world and heaps and heaps of imagination in creating it. The main story, of course, we've seen in so many other books and films: corporate America/greed/industrialists moving into an area and taking over for exploitation no matter what environmental treasures and traditions are upset. That I found a little trite actually and the evil characters so one dimensional.

It's beautiful and engrossing and even moving in places but the core story seemed a little stale and pretty predictable, too.

Which is exactly what you will read should you go back and glance at today's notes.

I also agree with your note about the inconvenience of having to upgrade the firmware on your Blu-Ray player.  [I also have a Blu-Ray Samsung.]

It's one of major the reasons that I still choose DVD over Blu-Ray when buying or renting titles.

I watched it on a Panasonic Blu-ray player that had no trouble at all, but later on tonight, I'll put it in my Samsung 1500 and see what happens. I suspect it won't play even though I have the most recent firmware.

Not that I'm planning to buy or even rent a copy, but I would be curious to know how AVATAR does on your Samsung.  Thanks.

I received a reminder notice regarding my upcoming eye check appointment.  It is a good thing I decided to postpone it a week.  The time on the reminder is earlier than the time on my original appointment card.  The doctor needed to change the time so he could leave early & they forgot to check with me.  ::)

I had a call from Ron Raines about 90 minutes ago saying he wanted to stop by and borrow some CDs. I told him I had to be outa here by 7, and now I'm leaving. I have no idea where he is.

Leonardo di Caprio will be playing him in the film about his life.

DR elmore I'm glad your downstairs neighbor doesn't have any complaints.  It not only demonstrates you are a considerate upstairs neighbor, but that normal movement does not create excessive noise.

Except that elmore failed to mention that his downstairs neighbor is Helen Keller.
