Finished with my viewing.  I watched a motion picture on the DVR, then I watched the first half hour of the recent BBC Royal Shakespeare Hamlet, which I'm enjoying.

Surprise ending, DR Jane.

But not necessarily a good episode ;)  I was hoping we might like the show again.  We will still watch it.

Never mind - I found it - minxthedog, right?  It went out with everyone else's.

I was just about to send you the email you requested.   :)

So, BK . . .DOCTOR ZHIVAGO:  A CELEBRATION.  Any thoughts?  (other than my "meh.")

I don't plan on buying DOCTOR ZHIVAGO on Blu-ray. I've only watched my DVD once since I bought it, so there is no way I'm investing big bucks into an HD version of a film I'm not overly fond of.

It took me until 7:40 to finish the bonus features on STAGECOACH. There are a lot of them, but I have to say I enjoyed them, even the cankankerous John Ford interview with a British interviewer who kept veering away from the films to discuss politics and social history that he didn't want to talk about. My god, the man makes handfuls of great movies and that twit interviewer wants to pick at him about the treatment of the Indians or the civil rights movement. (It was filmed in 1968.)

I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Loved seeing Luke and Reid come face to face with their attraction and its scaring Luke so much he ran away with these LAME, FEEBLE excuses why he couldn't give in to his urges. Oy!

Then I watched tonight's BONES. An interesting mystery (author Kathy Reichs penned the episode, her first since the series began) even if the solution borrowed from one of Agatha Christie's most famous books. And the "wow" moment mentioned by DR Ginny was very enjoyable. I also LOVED the nitpicky sheriff character.

Re the review - it's our second kind of review - the first kind appreciate the show for what it is.  The second kind like to show their superiority.  In Indiana we got the first kind.  I suspect that all the reviews in Olympia will be the second kind, especially if they attended the preview.  It happened to us in NY.  Preview reviews were pretty terrible, opening night reviews were much better.  Go know.  I can't wait to see it.
Thank you. that's what I thought of the review, too. Glad they recommended the show, but why couldn't they just enjoy it for what it is? Silly.

GREY'S ANATOMY. [sigh] Is this season over yet?

Only one real case of interest. I got tired of the grieving husband, a carryover from a previous episode, and the flirty lesbian with Callie was so schoolgirly. Ugh! Aren't these adults?

I must say, a LOT of people got their books today, and from e-mails I've received, seem to be enjoying it - makes me very happy indeed.

Book and CDs arrived today. Have to finish two other books first. Really looking forward to reading it, though. Maybe just a peak this weekend ... which means I'll probably have it finished by Monday.

I have put in 60 hours this week so far. hope to work another 13 or 14 tomorrow. The office staff said there will be no hours on Saturday or Sunday, but when they see how far behind we are, maybe we'll be in there on Saturday. That overtime plus night differential makes a huge difference.

What's Dr. Zhivago: A Celebration?  The Blu-Ray?

It's the new special feature from the illustrious, and I use that word loosely, Laurent B.

TD, did your Facebook account get hacked, perchance?

Let me check. . .I know that there have been Yahoo problems. . . .(I changed my password there today).

Nothing seems to be wrong with my fb account. . .no unauthorized activity to be seen there.  But, thanks DR JMK for the heads up.  (It was probably Yahoo related).

I don't plan on buying DOCTOR ZHIVAGO on Blu-ray. I've only watched my DVD once since I bought it, so there is no way I'm investing big bucks into an HD version of a film I'm not overly fond of.

Whereas, I, who is immensely fond of ZHIVAGO, and has watched his dvd of it several times over, has happily purchased the blu-ray (of course with Borders' pre-order price, employee discount and rewards bucks, spent a great deal less than asking price on the web or in retail outlets).
But, that is what makes horse-racing - you haven't caught me watching GRAY'S ANATOMY or DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES lately. . . .

I didn't knock the film in any way. I recognize it's adored by millions. I just don't happen to be one of them. I can see its admirable qualities. I just don't enjoy sitting through it.

If I hated it, I wouldn't have bought it at all in any medium. I've had it on both laserdisc and DVD. That's plenty for my needs.

Now I'm going to head downstairs and hope it's cooler down there than it is in my office right now. It got to 87 here today, so the upstairs always heats up.

Good night!
