Tuesday morning greetings!  So, I'm still on eastern time and wide awake at 6am here in Chicagoland.  Ah, well, gives me plenty of time to get ready for another meet-up at the Vera outlet store with a Facebook friend before Richard and I head north to Wisconsin.

Good morning, all! I have a lot of things to do today, so I here I am. I have to get a couple of packages of Victor Herbert manuscripts ready for two copyists, more proofreading on THE ROSE OF ALGERIA scores, and I have an edit session with Skip Kennon. I work on Algeria first and head down to Toyland. Before my sessions with Skip, I want to go over all of the latest Babes In Toyland scores with my last edits to see if any redesigning of the harp parts was done behind my back. So far, they look good; they're certainly not as drastically redone as the harp for ]Lady of the Slipper I haven't decided my course of action yet, although at the present I am angry enough to leave the project.

So, on to pleasant things, like the TOD: both DR Ben and I have a huge affection for the Chad Mitchell Trio, and I credit them and the glorious Judy Collins for whatever plitical thinking I possess. I am also fond of the Weavers, Pete Seeger, Susan Reed, who recently died, Jean Ritchie who's the Real McCoy, Oscar Brand, Joan Baez, John Jacob Niles, whom I was lucky enough to see before he died, and two vanilla ice cream groups, The Kingston Trio and The new Christy Minstrels.

I never think of Woody Guthrie as a folk singer since he performed his own songs; I consider him a balladeer, like Bob Dylan, Eric Anderson, Ian Tyson, and the great Tom Paxton, who have all had their songs pass into the folk tradition and for all of whose music I have a great affection. I know I'm missing others, so I'll be curious to see who else turns up on the DR's lists.

Well tonight is the second to last episode of LOST!

Sunday will be crazy with a 7-9pm show, the finale from 9-11:30pm and then Jimmy Kimmel. I wonder how many people will be watching it all that night?

I am also excited to see tonight's GLEE and THE GOOD WIFE, two of my favorite shows!

I know a while back some people thought that BK would hate GLEE. But to me anybody who loves musical theatre would most likely like it. It has such a positive vibe and all the musical numbers are so enjoyable to watch!

Oh and I forgot tonight is actually the 2nd to last week of AMERICAN IDOL too!  And the results to DWTS. Dialidol seems to have a clear pick on who will be going home tonight. :(

DR Jennifer - Let's hope that DialIdol is correct.  Gawd knows that that contestant should have gone home last week. Or the week before. Or even the week before that.

I have a couple of friends who are in the process of coordinating a "traveling" "Lost" party for that night.  They had actually both planned to have their own parties, but since they both "share" the same circle of friends, well... So, the person with the bigger apartment and the bigger TV will be hosting the first part of the evening.  Then the other person will be hosting the late-night portion.  Let's just say that a lot of Broadway actors are very happy that Monday is their day off. ;)

I sure hope BK takes the shortest route for his long and winding day.  I know that the long and winding road will take him all day if he chooses that route.

And if any of your have a hammer, don't take it with you to the airport.  You won't be leaving on a jet plane if you do.

I'm awake and already, it's a different day!

TOD - I do a lot of Peter Paul and Mary songs in the classroom.  The kids love them.  I'm also a fan of the Seekers, Bob Dylan, the Weavers, and all those folk groups as I find their songs accessible and still relevant to this day.

I am enjoying the EARTH VEE ESS THE SPIDER cd very much!

The booklet has some great photos in it....including the one used MOST effectively in the trailer for the film....the woman with her skirt caught in the door of an old Buick....and screaming and screaming as the camera moves in on her face!

Working on the rehearsal schedule.

I can't rehearse on weekends and on Monday or Friday nights.  And I can't be there on Tuesdays or Wednesdays if I can't get a ride.  Thursdays are also not good for me...

Now what lead role did you give me?
