Hello, Surdna!

That was the title of Penny Marshall's latest pilot (it didn't get picked up...)

I am majorly annoyed. CBS cancelled one of my favorite shows, GHOST WHISPERER. MEDIUM was renewed.  There is a chance that ABC might pick-up GW.  :(

I missed a little - is Ms. Lansbury repeating her Tony winning role as Mme Arcati?

Question for BK:  the Dub Taylor who is mentioned your book as one of the early partners of the record company, was he the Dub Taylor?  If it was, was he involved in a record company purely as a business investment or did he have an interest in classical music?

Brad Ross lives in our building.  His lovely girlfriend of many years, Drew, is just a fabulous person whom we adore also - was she at the presentation?

hmmm...I'm getting old...I can remember that Dub Taylor was a frequent guest on the Carson Show but I can't remember if he was amusing or annoying...

Is Francois a former reader again?  I can't keep these comings and goings straight anymore.  I could have sworn he was back.  In any case, Happy Birthday, Francois, with or without your cedilla.  ;)

And as one who has had his feelings hurt online (not here), may I just say to anyone/everyone who has left:  take a deep breath and relax.  There really isn't anything we're discussing here that is THAT important to leave in a huff (or a minute and a huff).  Unless, of course, it's my incipient lesbianism.  ;)

BK's close personal directee Adair is coming over this morning to give me her book for an upcoming cabaret I'm playing for her (on very short notice, I might add).

Today is also repair day for DirecTV.  The great room receiver is wonky.  If you leave it off for any length of time it stops sending a signal.  It also keeps detaching itself from the multi-room DVR network.

I must also email the customer service lady at Qwest today to see what they're going to do about this massive misquote I received on new services.

Good morning. The workers across the street began hammering at 6:15 a.m. Luckily I've been up since 5 a.m.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Today is alumni day at Nashotah House, which means that Richard is busy until late afternoon with services, meetings, and a luncheon.  I could have gone to the luncheon, but told him to save the $35 and I'd entertain myself.

And on a completely different subject, I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I heartily recommend CELINE:  THROUGH THE EYES OF THE WORLD on Blu to anyone/everyone.  It's not really a concert video, it's a really fascinating (and gorgeous to watch) documentary following her around the world on her 2008 tour.  She really seems to be a remarkably giving human being, considering her superstardom.

JMK - You must accept that many of us are really bothered that you're only attracted to women.  I know - it's a curse, but that's just the way it is.

And now, here's Celine Dion with THAT'S THE WAY IT IS

bk - LOVING the book. Had to make myself stop reading to go to sleep last night (which as I've read, is par for the course around these parts)

Here's to a good Wednesday.  And one for Mahler!

Dub is a good name for someone with a record company.

I turned on the TV at work just in time to hear Regis talk about his surgical procedure and that they shaved his groin. If that wasn't enough of a visual, Kelly follows it up with "Welcome to my world." TMI, people, TMI!

TV instantly switched to monitor status.

bk - As for that reading... I've seen many a staged reading done without chairs on stage. Many of them. In DC. In Chicago. In Richmond. In Orlando. And, yes, even in New York City. Just sayin'. ;)
