Cillaliz, I remember sitting here looking at the kitchen wallpaper thinking how much I hated it. Then I realized that it was MY house and I could change anything I didn't like (unlike apartment living). That was when I really felt like a homeowner instead of a renter.

I know what you mean.  I've hated the wall paper in the entry since I moved in, but I've always used the garage entrance, so it really didn't bother me and I used it primarily as a place to store the vacuum cleaner.  Now I've started sitting on the front porch a lot and have had more guests who go through the front entry.  I decided it's time to make the entry look better.  Just getting rid of that paper feels SOOO good.

I know most people like to sit and do nothing or spend three day weekends with family.  I actually prefer to stay home and have three days to do a major project, so I can actually start and finish on a weekend.  My neighbors on both side are gone this weekend and the neighborhood is very quiet. I'm really enjoying it.

Removing wallpaper is something that I have always hated to do.  Of course in our present house we have NO wallpaper.....but in some of our old houses....whew.....BIG FLOWERS AND LEAVES......

The UNDERPANTS reference in this video (at 18 seconds or so in) was indeed in honor of Sandra's word of choice.

DR John G,  I enjoyed reading about all the fun you had last night.

Thank you. After working 29.5 hours of overtime on top of the usual 40 last week, it felt good to do something human again.

Back from the airport (plane was ten minutes late, luggage took twenty-five minutes to hit the carousel), and a nice dinner.  I had a BLTA and a small Caesar salad.

Apparently everyone IS enjoying their holiday weekend. :)

Well...

Sort of...

I was out in Brooklyn attending a birthday party for my friend, Jeff. His partner is quite the cook, and he set out quite a nice variety of dishes tonights: gazpacho, a green salad with a very tasty mint-parsley dressing, (warm) sesame noodles, eggplant parmigiana, chicken salad & arugula sandwiches, Vietnamese-style grilled chicken, and an apple-pear crumb-topped pie. YUMMY!!!!!!

And it was a good mix of people: some family members, some fellow doctors, and some fellow musicians.  All in all, it was a lovely way to spend a Memorial Day Weekend Sunday.

I've made a very important decision, and that decision will be known first thing in the morning, when I make a telephonic call.

We stopped at Morelli's Ice Cream (no relation to Ben's Ant) on the way home from visiting Greg's folks and ran into two couples who also work in film but had never met each other. So we all had ice cream together. I had a scoop that was half salted caramel and half maple and bacon brittle. Yum! I thought: "Jose would approve"!

DR Sandra - If Portland, OR, can have a "Bloop Cart" (see above post/link), I wonder if a "Floop Cart" would be welcome in your area?

I did more planting...basil, oregano, mint, then got everything mulched right before the rain came in. Now I have an "Italian garden"!

No rosemary?
