The kittens got shots today, and I was informed that the boys are all big enough to be neutered, although Jennifer has to gain another half-pound. They are fixing the boys smaller.

Good news.

What a lovely Freedom Day we had! Here are the things we did not do: we did not go to the new Sea Life aquarium at the mall; we did not see a rattlesnake; we did not ride on the $1.1 billion Sky Train, although we saw where it is being built. We did go for a nice drive and ate too much at an Indian casino buffet, where DR Sandra created a new favorite food: messy tacos. She also enjoyed some chocolate peanut butter cup pie. Hurray for freedom!

I feel like I'm galloping frpom disaster to disaster these days. Much as I like what I do, why is it I lose important pieces of paper, like my vocal score for OH BOY! with all of the edits I made? I've taken apart my work area and I cannot find it. I'm halfway through the Act One Finale of THE ROSE OF ALGERIA, I've sent in the invoices for the Herbert song copyists, I've sent pdfs of all the new songs to the singers, and I've had a loverly phone conversation with BK. I need a nap.

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And I woke up with something not-so-right with my neck.  I think I need to hang upside-down someplace for a bit.

I saw the SEX & THE CITY 2 movie and I think that those reviewers were out of their mind.

Anyone who loved the series and loved the first movie will love this movie.  Those grumpy old men who reviewed SATC2 really did their readers a disservice.  I think part of the 2nd movie is knowing the characters though. What they do will not make sense if you do not know about Carrie and Mr. Big. Or about how he walked out on her or what happened in the first movie.  It is basically a continuation of everything that has happened till now.

I thought it was fun and funny. I do think 2 hrs 20 is a tiny bit too long. But the ending was so interesting and there weren't really any parts that i would have wanted to cut.

I think anybody who is a true fan of the show and first movie should definitely see this one.

The female reviewer for ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, who loved SATC gave this film a C- .   No grumpy old men there.

And C- was rather generous considering the review she gave for the film.

I learned two valuable lessons yesterday afternoon.

First Lesson:  Never try to make tuna pasta salad during a four hour blackout.

No it was the pasta that had just started boiling when the power failure happened.  Since I expected the lights to come back on rather quickly the pasta sat in the water for a long time.  I would have used different pasta, but I had used the last box I had.  The pasta tasted rather doughy.

I don't know how she felt about the first film. But from reading the review for SATC2, it seems like she is not a fan of the show.

Good evening all.
I apologize for my errant truant ways.  I had made such a firm resolution to come back to the fold, and then life got crazy busy again.  I hope this finds you all well and happy.

Jane - CONGRATULATIONS on 41 years!!  Jed and I only have 38 more years to go to catch up :)

This weekend Jed and I did what we call a Theatrical Double Header.  We saw Harvey Fierstein as Tevye in Fiddler at the Paramount for the matinee, and then we saw an exquisite production of Candide at the 5th Avenue.  Candide was perfectly cast, perfectly staged, and beautifully played by the orchestra.  It was long, I admit, but Jed and I were still annoyed by the jeans wearing couple in front of us grumbling during intermission "13 more songs in the damn second half??  How long to we have to sit here, anyway??"  "I can't tell where one song ends and the next begins, it could be 30 songs for all we know."  "What the hell are they talking about anyway?"  "No idea, dear."  "I should have had a damn beer before this started."
And on in that vein....  *sigh*
