Good morning, all! The shoe-wearing oaf from Canada arrived home this morning at 3:02 with his doxy in tow, I think; some nights I'm too groggy to decipher the number of shoe sounds and the dog's tapping toes. At 3:02 I was really groggy, but I went back to sleep very quickly. If it hadn't been for the usual slamming door, I probably would have never awoke.
Last year at a reading I ran into the person who stirred the pot at the label that shall not be named; it was our first meeting in eight years. I am curious to know ehat's been going on since we once were good friends.
As for tonight's Tonys, my beloved FINIAN'S RAINBOW, while up for several nominations, will most likely win nothing, and I care for little on the docket beyond wishing Jonathan Tunick the orchestration award. I am surprised my dear friend Larry Hochman, who's been nominated before for A CLASS ACT and SPAMALOT, for which he should have won, is not nominated for THE ADDAMS FAMILY. I'm not a big fan of Mr Lippa's, but I bet Larry's orchestrations make the score sound better than it is.
