I am now off to rehearsal in a thunderstorm.

I hope it isn't a tempest in a teapot!

They both sound like lousy rehearsal spaces.

So I get a member request from someone wanting to join our merry troupe.  As I always do, I sent an e-mail to the address from whence the request came and welcomed the person and said they'd have to hit "reply" so I know it's not a spambot, which most of these things are.  So, an hour ago I got an e-mail saying it was definitely not a spambot.  But something about the "name" smelled fishy, so I looked up the original e-mail address to which I'd sent my e-mail - something about it seemed familiar and I thought I knew what it was - so I did a little research, did a little Google detective work and found I was absolutely correct and it was our very own 3D Diffusion.  Nice try, though.  I did write her back asking if we might have a civil e-mail conversation so we could maybe figure out why she feels she must do the things she does - I'm genuinely baffled by it and would be interested to know the story so that maybe we could talk through it.  I don't think she'll do it, but I suppose you never know.

It is baffling.  Do you know who she is?

Oh, my, here's what happened in my neighborhood last night:

Jesus Statue Destroyed by Fire

This church is between my mom's house and ours.

I wondered if that was near you.

I'm still in shock over the 3DDiffusion news. Why do you want to be a member of a club that clearly doesn't want you?

You have that out of order, why would you want to be a member of a club when you so clearly dislike the leader of the club.

BTW, I don't dislike her, I feel sorry for her.  Personally I felt it would have been better to have ignored her posts than to have commented on them.  I'm in full agreement she was removed altogether.

For anyone watching tv tonight the President is supposed to be speaking at 8pm. I noticed my tv's guide changed the time for some shows.

Funny you are telling us this. :)  Thanks, I'll check if it will be a problem.

Off to the 5th grade "clap out" for Zach.  His official graduation ceremony was this morning.  It was extremely moving as they paid homage to one of his classmates, a sweet little girl who has endured two years of surgeries and much suffering due to a tumor on her brainstem.  They've removed most of the tumor, but she had a stroke during the second surgery and has paralyzed vocal chords and is walking only with the aid of a walker.  Two other girls read a very moving section of her blog today.  I was a basket case by the time it was over.

Just reading this made me tear up. :(  I hope she will improve with therapy.

I know a woman who fell on the ice on her back step and bruised her somewhat.

I hate to bruise my somewhat.  I've also accumulated ice on my back step...so I try to step in front whenever icy conditions prevail.

Here is the little girl's website and blog:

www.chloewatts.com

I highly recommend reading it not only for the inspiration (and tears) it will provide, but as a sharp rejoinder to all of us when we're complaining about silly trivialities.

And the word of the day is: VIRGA!

I got a real rise out of the word of the day, until I read it a second time.

I like so many of the songs already posted here.....

I think this was their FIRST chart hit....way back when....ladies & gentlemen.....Mr Marty Robbins....Live version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fj_YIo6WCCo&feature=related

Was that really Marty Robbins, or was it a smurf?

How short was he?

The helper is not reading this site.  The helper has apologized and tells me I'll have the invoices today.  I have been nothing but nice to the helper, and even though my frustration level has been high over the last five days, I have not berated her or left her angry messages - I've been strong but nice in my dealings with her.  Yes, I should have gotten her address, but even if I had it I wouldn't go over there knocking on her door because that would not be good behavior or the right thing to do.  If the invoices aren't returned today, then the next step will be determined.  The apology seemed heartfelt and she explained what's been going on in a brief way.

Some girl just dropped off a box of invoices at my door and told me to give them to whatshisname.

DR td & others who recommended the book, I am now reading THE DEVIL IN WHITE CITY.  Our friends left it here for me.  As soon as I'm done I have to mail it back since it belongs to her sister.  So far, I am enjoying it very much.
