More about last night's glee club concert: There were 150 men on stage, ranging from 2010 graduates to someone who graduated 50 years ago. They did all the familiar material under the direction of 3 conductors - the current one and his 2 predecessors. Ethan Sperry, the current conductor, is leaving to become head of choral programs at Portland State University in Oregon, so I wonder if he and DR JMK will cross paths.
Alumni audiences are much better behaved than the student audiences we've been in for concerts during the school year.
Nice you enjoyed the evening.
Actually, DR Jane, I enjoyed the second half of the concert more than the first. Just before the concert started a party of 5 came in to sit next to us. It appeared to be a young mom whose husband was in the glee club, their 3 kids, and either father or father-in-law. I suspect the FiL was also a glee club alum who chose not to participate in the concert. At least not on stage, but he hummed along during
every number in the first half. At intermission, Rob and I were able to move to seats far enough away that I couldn't hear him and from which we could see Richard better.
