Thanks, Dr Laura.  It would be nice to know that I do have blood flowing to my brain...

THE CHERRY ORCHARD opened on this date in 1977 at the Vivian Beaumont.  Here's a Page Two Dance celebrating that fact:

DR Dan(the Man) - when I had a carotid artery test about a year ago they used ultrasound.  Hope you get good results!

Thanks, DR Ginny!

I hope they don't press that ultrasound scope on my neck too hard so that I wind up blacking out.

Or maybe that will be part of the test...

TOD - Margaret's Chicken reminds me of something I used to make quite often:

Parmesan Chicken

6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 T. melted margarine

1/2 C. finely grated parmesan cheese

1/4 C. dry bread crumbs

1 t. each dried oregano leaves and parsley flakes

1/4 t. each paprika, salt, and black pepper

Heat oven to 400o F.  Spray 15x10x1-inch dish with non-stick cooking spray.

Dip chicken in margarine; coat with combined remaining ingredients. Place in prepared pan.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until tender.

I haven't made this in a long time, but will this week.  Thanks for the reminder, BK!

I'm going for a medical test this afternoon--a cartoid artery screening.  I'm not sure if it's an ultrasound or an echo-thingy or just an x-ray, but it is suppose to take very little time.  Hopefully, I won't have to insert my neck into any strange contraption...

My health really screwed up my Snday plans. I totally forgot about a huge birthday bash i was supposed to attend from my frined Peggy. I have to call her today and apologize.

Damn!

I hope my McGlinn check arrives today. I hate being poor and in lousy health.

I just read that actor Corey Allen passed away on Sunday. I always thought he was a very fine actor.

Good morning, all! I got a nice email from my beloved sister-in-law and chef par excellence JoAnn this morning, and - I've wrongly  been maligning Randy all weekend - she attached an email from Randy notifying one of the developers around the new hospital that the house and garage on the property had been torn down and were they interested in the land. The response was maybe. In the future. Land looks good, though.

On the garlic cream cheese recipe: Is it really four whole bulbs of garlic or four cloves?

I have a neck like Audrey Hepburn, too. But I keep mine well protected behind several more inches of skin -- and well, probably some fat, too.

Jennifer - yes, chopped (or diced) garlic - it goes in with the Ritz cracker crumbs and grated cheddar cheese pile o' stuff.

I had no idea Corey Allen was still alive.  I never mentioned in the book the two episodes of This Is The Life I did, both of which he directed.  I didn't mention them because I really had no memory of them other than that I did them - well, there was a little funny story about finally seeing the legendary "Roll 'em, Sholem" Lee Sholem at work - Mr. Sholem directed hundreds upon hundreds of low-budget TV shows - like This is the Life, most of them shot in two or three days.  This is the Life shot in two-and-a-half days.  On the half-day, the show finishing would wrap at noon, and the new show would begin shooting shortly thereafter.  So, I arrived on the set and got to see Mr. Sholem wrapping the final two shots of his show and I got to hear him say his immortal line, "Cut. Print. Over there."

I'm up - had a good night's sleep.  Have to start going to be earlier, I think, like twelve-thirty instead of one-thirty.  Really interesting dreams before I woke up - wanted it to continue to see the outcome.

It has to be four little cloves. Four huge bulbs would be way too much garlic!

Using the mail program on the Mac, as I always do, I just sent two e-mails - neither of them actually sent - this has happened before and is completely weird to me.  I have no idea if they'll send at some point - in the past when that's happened, they've sometimes gone through about ten minutes later - it's really weird and I'm wondering if it's working the other way, too - for received mail.

My former co-worker, Bud, was best friends with Corey Allen's brother, back when they were young men.

Mail was frozen.  I went to quit and it wouldn't so I had to force quit.  When I relaunched suddenly thirty e-mails showed up in my main inbox.  Unbelievable.  And I lost the two e-mails I was trying to send, so I had to redo those.
