This afternoon I came home and watered the yard by hand -and a hose, of course  (as opposed to using a sprinkler).    It took over an hour and was very relaxing.  They sprayed the yard for bugs, grubs and fertilized this morning so I had to water it today.  It was a nice chore to do in the sun and warm but not hot temps

I'm not big on using pesticides and herbicides, but the yard was out of control, so this year, I'm doing it

So today and tomorrow have been semi vacation days.  In and out of the office doing a little of this and that, but not really doing too much.  Tomorrow and Thursday  morning I'm also going to be at the water tower painting from time to time too.  Then I'll be officially on vacation from Thurs noon until Mon am.  I think I really need a break, so no work, no committee work, just relaxation, maybe a little work on the house, some time at the lake, hanging out at Saturday in the Park with friends, a few adult beverages and hair with no men in it.  It will be nice.

DR JRAND, I had Spam light for lunch.  I didn't have any white bread, so I couldn't actually follow your recipe

There's this tv commercial currently playing for Restasis, to help dry eyes. The actress playing the doctor who uses it herself is so bad, so comatose and unanimated I am amazed that no one yelled at her LIVELIER!, gave her a goose, or replaced her. Oy!

She really stinks.

Has anyone tried to order anything from Amazon.com today and failed? I can't tell if it's my computer, Con Edison, or something global!

A FB friend is having problems.

On the garlic cream cheese recipe: Is it really four whole bulbs of garlic or four cloves?

It has to be four little cloves. Four huge bulbs would be way too much garlic!
My thought, too, but I like the sounds of the recipe.

It's truly a mess. I bet they've lost millions in sales today.

BK, this morning there was an inquiry on Cast Recording List about the Rare Kimmel Tracks, and I'm wondering if that wasn't the reason for the book sales today. My friend Darrel Karl posted the contents of the CD.

We've had this Big Russian Spy Ring Bust around Manhattan the past couple of days. I'm wondering if I can get the name of the neighbor above me on the list?

Yes, they all will cuddle. Singdaw (the tabby with all the white on his face) won't stay off of me when I sit down. Barnum is a cuddler. The only one who is very independent yet is Miss Ginger, although she does come and sit beside me.

I just had a friend come and play. They all hid. We need lots of "therapy."

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES - The musical
THE BIRDCAGE - film
LA CAGE AUX FOLLES - The original film

I want to cuddle Barnum.  I wish I could help you with the therapy.

Well we got the lights all set, but I only did a few cues.....Mr Tim is going to finish them up tomorrow when I bring him my paper, which he already has, but he must have forgotten, so I will give him another copy.

BUT tragedy struck BLITHE SPIRIT last night - yes TRAGEDY.

When Charles first sees his wife Elvira as a ghost, he drops the glass of whiskey he just poured for himself.  Fine and dandy except last night, Charles had poured himself a martini....I specifically purchased HEAVY whiskey glasses so it would survive the fall.....not so the lovely GOLD-RIMMED martini glasses....CRASH!!!!   Broken.....and I just had enough of the martini glasses with gold rims to match the number of martinis he makes....and now I am short one.

It is a tragedy.....but the play will go on....I guess.

My suggestion:  Paper cups or a new Charles!

DR ELMORE is out and about.

and raving! DR JRand59, I am sorry to hear about the martini glass. While I really enjoy socializing with intelligent actors, and they do exist, it's the dumb ones that make your life hell. It's even worse when they're both pretty and dumb.

But some faults can be overlooked.

We are home from Kenwood Towne Center.  Richard's laptop is 2/3 fixed - they had to order a part for the final 1/3.  I have a new printer/scanner/copier and, because there's a Vera Bradley Signature Store in the same mall, a new tote and accessories.  The tote was 40% off, so my savings almost paid for the glasses case and coin purse that I use as an iPod/earbuds/flash drives case.  We also had dinner at Montgomery Inn.  Delightful Tuesday date!

I have had problems with Amazon for more than a week now. Have wanted to post a review of BK's book among other things and can't log in.
