Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of 1000 CDs, and now it is time for you to post until the 1000 CDs (cow delinquents) come home.

until you mentioned Kenneth Nelson's name I thought the Brit mini-series was recent, but since I knew Mr. Nelson has died I looked up the show and it was from 1985

Ask bk day: Would you ever consider releasing the soundtrack to THE ADVENTURES OF OCIEE NASH, a lovely never-before-released score by Van Dyke Parks?

Second preliminary phone interview for a job today. I haven't gone through all these hoops before. But I'm glad I made it to this level and hope to get further.

Thanks all for the suggestions for the glasses....

DR CP - if he had dropped the RIGHT glass, it would not have broken.  I bought HEAVY whiskey on the rocks glasses, that are very small and witha double bottom - and the rug is double padded underneath where the glass falls.  It was the stemmed glass itself AND CHARLES that created the problem.....wrong glass.....

Good morning, all! This morning, I have to send a copy of my outstanding invoice with the note "if you haven't paid this, please do so" because I really want to get this dental problem aolved ASAP. The good news is that a lot of the swelling in my cheek is gone and the abscess is diminshing. The bad news is I wanted to get this treatment at the NYU Dental Clinic looked into and initiated this week so I coluld make my Ohio trek in relative comfort next Friday. Oy!

Today, I'm leaving the cold of my apartment for Toyland and various tasks, including an editing session with my friend Mr Skip Kennon. I think today we are tacklng the song "Bagdad" reached No. 2 in record sales for 1913 in Billy May's hit recording:
          Hold-up copers, pistol toters
          Taxi cheaters, female voters,
          In old Bagdad were taboo,
          Bread and butter charges too.
          To increase the population
          Was the fav'rite recreation,
Allah smiled on all such things,
          Allah always pulls the strings.

Life was fine and fair in Bagdad.
          City fair of mystic spells,
          Oh, those olden temples golden,
And oh, those spicy garlic smells.
          There they had no alimony,
          No divorce? No no!
For the cost of one New Yorker
You could keep a hundred corkers
          In Oriental Bagdad long ago.

We missed two birthdays this week for two of my favorite writers: Richard Rodgers and Frank Loesser, whose 100th birthday was yesterday. If I were a bell . . .!

Good morning.  Nice and bright and windy this morning.  Who knows what the day will bring.  I think the DP and I are going to head to one of those over priced shopping places.  I don't understand why people think it's important to have a Rodeo Drive sort of shopping area in the middle of a jungle.

For ask BK day:  I was amused with the comments about the film "You Light Up My Life" in your recent book as I had asked about that film ages ago here on the board.  Any possibility of Kritzerland releasing the soundtrack?  I know it's cheezy, but cheezy is sometimes fun :)

Don't you think it's because shopping has become the Great American Family pastime over things like church, farming, socializing? The only places I ever see a family together in the midwest are malls.

Many thanks for all the test vibes yesterday!  I have no idea what the results are and, unless they've found something drastic, I probably won't learn anything until my next visit to the cardiologist in November or December...

Next up, my annual stress test...
