We dropped DR Elmore off at the airport in plenty of time for his flight and on the way back paid our respects at the impressive tomb of Pres. William McKinley and this family.  In about half an hour, we'll mosey across the street and try to get into the first tour of the day at the First Ladies' site.  Richard can hardly contain his enthusiasm.

I am confused DR Cillaliz. What does "fu" mean?  I've never heard that word/term before. So I wouldn't ask if the person who sent it was mad. I'd be like "i have no idea what that means!"

Well it's a text and and U is often You.  Does that help?  The person I thought sent it understood exactly what I thought it meant. I was right about my stupid misunderstanding.  He emailed in response to my apology and the misuderstanding has been cleared up with no harm done. I'm glad about that

I loved The Drowsy Chaperone, DR Druxy. Good old-fashioned musical.

Ditto!  I loved it. Of course I saw it in NYC with a big contingent of HHW people and DR jhvw, so it was a most wonderful experience

Ok, off to start my day.  I'm going to Petco.  I was going to have a little shopping spree, but think I'll stay home and get some more work done on the house instead

Tomorrow night is Fun Night at PEO, which is how I'll be spending my birthday.  It really means a pot luck dinner in the backyard by the pool of one of our members.   I'm supposed to bring a salad or a dessert.  Any suggestions for something that may be good if the food ends up being served outside in the heat?

It's supposed to rain tomorrow, I'm hoping it doesn't.  I'm also thinking I should take the glass and screens off of the combination windows from the inside rather than having the painters do it from the outside by taking off the entire trim.  I think there's less chance of breakage.  I'll talk to them in the morning.  I really hope it doesn't rain so they can get started.  It will be so nice to have all these jobs done.

That's really why I want to be here.

I'm going to take a bike ride and stop at the library. We have weird weekend summer hours (1-5pm) which i hate. I'd rather the library was open 10am-1pm!

Today is overcast, but it looks like the sun's coming out, or trying.  Last night, we had droplets of rain - weirdest July weather ever.

This afternoon, Richard and I are going to visit the First Ladies National Historic Site.  He's beside himself with excitement.

JohnG, yes Betty Kean sings and dances in MURDER IN THE BLUE ROOM. She plays part of a threesome known as THE 3 JAZZYBELLES. They are the comedy relief of the picture (June Preisser and Grace McDonald are the other two).

And I love that you know who Betty Kean is! I think she is hilarious!

Of course, one of the biggest laughs in The Odd Couple is:

Oscar (to Felix) "You leave me little notes on my pillow.  I told you a hundred times, I can't stand little notes on my pillow. 'We're all out of Corn Flakes. F.U.'  It took me three hours to figure out that F.U. was Felix Ungar."

A laugh that literally stopped the show at the Huntington Hartford.

It's not one of the biggest laughs.

It IS the biggest laugh.

Do you think that Mr. Simon named his character Felix Unger just for that one laugh?

I've often wondered that very thing or if it was just a happy happenstance - I'd like to think the latter.
