we had a n ice hard rain last night   we really needed it - the grass and flowers and bushes have all been looking parched ...

As i fell asleep listening to the pounding rain I thought of how pleased Laura would have been to hav e had that storm at her house and wondred if she would have been tempted to go ouside t and eat pancakes

Good morning, all! This is another McGlinnventory day, followed by the NYPL, a stop at my pharmacy, some work on a few email questions here and then a movie, THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, with my friend Val. I always look forwad to spending time with her, so I'll end my day wth gossip and a movie.

I don't think I have anything else to report at the moment. Perhaps later.

No questions for BK, so I'll just say, "Good morning."

Good Morning!   The weatherman said today is muggy to the point of soupy out and he's right.  Went for a walk this morning and am now waiting to here whether the handy men are coming this morning.  I should get the bedroom ready for the cats to be shut in there for the day.

It's 81 here and it's not 8:00 am yet.  The dew point was 75 degrees last night, not sure what it is now but it feels like walking through a steam room.  Kind of felt good actually, but I was glad to get out of it and back in the AC

I'm back at my goal of being in shape before I'm 50.  I was really almost there a year ago, but totally let myself go over the fall and winter, so now I've got one year to get there.  I'm hoping to keep walking in the morning.  Now that the basement is cleaned up, I can easily get to the treadmill if the weather is bad.   I'm going to try to start with an easy mile in the morning to get my day started.  That should help.

Ok, I'm planning to work at home today.  The handymen said they'd be here around 9:00.  I better jump in the shower before they get here

Steamy this morning in Conshohocken, too, with the promise of more rain and thunderstorms throughout the day.  I'm glad I brought a lunch today so I wont have to venture outside...

Last night I watched PAT & MIKE.  This is my favorite Tracy and Hepburn movie.  If only ADAM'S RIB and WOMAN OF THE YEAR were as brisk and breezy (and David Wayne-less.)

We watched MAGNOLIA last night.

It's a little long (at 3+ hours), but it has so many great performances.
