Der Brucer and I were busy potting our plants.

He potted lots of tomato plants, and peppers.

I planted my herbs.  Peppermint, chives, oregano, Italian parsley, English thyme, and lavender.  I have no idea what I'm going to do with the lavender, but it will be nice to have around.

I also planted begonias and pansies.

Isn't that all too too?

Time to start working on dinner.  We're doing a beef fondue.  Acutally, beef and shrimp.  Plus we got some potato salad to go on the side, and we've some fresh tomatoes.  Yummers.

Mufti did THE HUMAN COMEDY a few years ago and I loved it.  The score was great and the book was very faithful to the original book and the Mickey Rooney film.

Hi all!

I was going to take it easy today and veg but that isn’t what happened.  I did every thing from walk and wash the dogs to wrangling the new chair into the house to putting a park bench together for the front yard.  Next Sunday I shall veg for sure.  Errr, wait that’s Mothers Day.  Well, I’ll veg AFTER I take Mom out to dinner.  If I can get her to go.

Thank you for the good wishes, Dan-in-Toronto and Elmore3003.  I’m sure I’ll be ok.  I copied and pasted your posts to my PDA as well.

I am looking forward to the bakery shops.  I’ve been told they are very, very good.  No diet for me when I go on vacation–anything goes!  I don’t think I’ll gain to much weight with all of the walking I’ll be doing anyway.

I’m not into drinking but I do think I will have a soda or two while I’m out.  Sprite or 7 up sounds really good!

I don’t know if I posted this or not.  I know I thought about it but with everything that happened with the computer and all I honestly don’t remember.  I found some stuff in a cute package shaped like a foot call “Relaxing Tired Leg Gel”.  I remember that Jose said something about wanting a foot bath from all the walking he did while in NYC so when I saw it, I thought, “Why not.  It might just help.”  It states on the package “After a long day on your feet, uplift your spirit from the tired toes up.  Soothing & cooling, our natural morello cherry & iced mint Tired Leg Gel will give lasting relief for tired, aching & heavy legs & feet and put the spring back in your step.”

I’ll let you know how it works.

I also picked up some “No Doze” and Tylenol PM.  Don’t panic, I know not to take them both at the same time but you know how tired I get so easy.  I thought it might help.  On another night I might not be able to sleep.   Hard to imagine that, I know,  but....

What do coprophiliacs like the least about international air travel?

The doody-free shops.

Alias was fairly good tonight.  Too bad I can't spoil to the west-coasters about how Vaughn...uh, can't say, can I!

We had our beef and shrimp fondue while watching.  That electric fondue pot has turned out to be a great investment.  The thermostat keeps whatever is cooking from getting too hot, be it the cheese or oil.  And it's a relaxing way to eat, because the food doesn't get cold on the plate, so the pacing is easier.

A couple of tricks with the shrimp.  First, get them from a really good fishmonger.  We've found a good one, never have to worry about freshness.  Second, when prepping the shrimp, it pays to a) cut through the back of the shells first - I use a small pair of scissors, the sort normally used for trimming moustaches, that kind of thing.  B) Devein the shrimp underwater - the veins don't stick to everything that way.  C) Cutting through the backs of the shells makes them easier to remove - but save the shells for making stock someday.  D) Let the shrimp sit in the refrigerator for a few hours before cooking, covered in well-salted water.  Believe me, this makes the shrimp taste better when you cook them.

This was one of the few ALIAS episodes of the season that I was really disappointed in. I found much of the writing lazy and events WAY too convenient. The show has always been over the top and outrageous, but for some reason tonight, I just didn't want to buy what they were handing me. Very disappointing, and the season finale is the next episode (albeit three weeks from now.)

Before it came on, I very much enjoyed DRACULA'S DAUGHTER from the DRACULA LEGACY COLLECTION. This was my first time seeing this film, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The transfer was very beautiful, too, with the print used in quite good shape. I only noticed a few age-related artifacts. Most of it was grand: sharp, clean, with wonderful contrast setting up such suitable atmosphere.

Well, look at it this way, there have been three previous days with terrific numbers, and there are choice psots EVERY day of the week.

Psots? Is that the same as posts?  :)

I have no prob whether we achieve a new low or not.  I used to have a prob but I got over it.  Of course, if we achieve a new low I will personally thank all those who helped by bitch-slapping them from here to eternity and hell and back.  They will be sleeping with the fishes.
