It took us 5 days to drive to Wisconsin.  It is taking us 4 days to drive to L.A.  Either we've learned a lesson, or have a lesson to learn.  :)

Good morning, all! I slept much later than intended, all because of the damned Oaf Above Me, who decided around 12:30 am to move quickly and aggressively about the apartment, infolding his bed (it's either that or cartons of drugs and ammunition he's dragging across the floor), getting the chickmobile ready for action. When he'd finished redecorating or whatever, he left and I went to sleep. At some time after 4 am, he and the young lady showed up and woke me, so I had a noisy period of time while eight feet (2 humans, one dog) moved about the apartment in heavy shoes. Don't the fools ever sit? Bits of their conversation filtered through the bathroom and kitchen air vents, none of it worth listening to. Shortly thereafter, the door closed and I thought, I guess he's walking her home, to the bus stop, to a subway, but soon after that thought, the footsteps began and I realized he was out walking the dog and SHE was walking about the apartment. He soon returned at 4:49 - I checked the clock - and the sex began, so I turned on the tv, to a rather loud volume, and surfed through HBO, Cinemax and Showtime stations, watching bits of things. Around 5:15-5:30, I turned off the tv and slept fitfully. Because of that fool, i lost two hours of working time this morning and I am not happy. Not happy at all.

So, now I'm wondering if he may not be dealing drugs at clubs between midnight and four am or if he's waiting for his lady friend - I don't even know if it's the same young lady visiting each time! - to leave work or hanging out at bars waiting for last call to pick up whomever. I personally hope he's trafficking in drugs and arms so I can have him deported or imprisoned.

BK, it sounds as if you're going through the mental aggravation I was going through for the past two weeks. You should talk to DR MBarnum; he talked me out of mine. I still don't know how.

So, today I may see a movie, but I have much work on the Herbert projects as well as completing the Indianapolis Symphony job. I'll photocopy it tomorrow and get it to the copyist on Tuesday.

I guess I will attempt earplugs again. I don't like them; I feel as though my head is wrapped in packing and I feel claustrophobic. I really need a good hit man. And a good alibi.

This freaks me out and makes me sad all at the same time.

I'm in Annapolis!

I took the train to DC on Friday. After an extended stop (45 minutes) in the Philadelphia train station (we had some technical isses and as we were pulling out the conductor said "We will be leaving very shortly. we addressed most of the problems and feel we can proceed. The person in the seat next to me said "At least we're not on a plane!) I got into Union Station at about 8:45 (an hour and 15 minutes late). But that was OK because my friend had a work emergency and instead of me going to her apartment she was going to meet me at the station. She arrived at 9pm. We had some light dinner and then we went to her place. We talked for a bit and then went to bed.

I got some flowers for Anthony and we left for Annapolis about 11:30. Without traffic it's a quick drive. Most of the time there was very little traffic but once we got on the road to the theatre we hit heavy beach traffic. The show began at 2pm. We arrived at the theatre at 1:50! Luckily we made it on time. The director was in the lobby and I told her Anthony didn't know I was here and that I was planning on surprising him. She was very happy and excited. I sat with her during the show. Anthony came into the theatre just before curtain looking for our DC friends and didn't see them. He did, however, see the director and me but he didn't know who I was. It was dark enough that he didn't recognize me. He told me later he didn't know who was sitting with TinaMarie!

The show went very well and we went outside for the "reveal" There are chairs in the lobby so I sat down and my friends stood in front of me waiting for Anthony. Another friend of ours from Roanoke, VA was there as well. He didn't know I would be there and we told him about the surprise so he joined the line to hide me from view. Anthony came out and made his way through the people, chatting with everyone and having a good time. He came to Karen and Danny (DC and VA) and said how happy he was to see them, etc., etc. and then they said "We have a surprise for you." They stood apart (there were actually 4 people from DC) and I walked through, gave him flowers, said Happy Anniversary and watched him almost fall over. It was a complete surprise. I'm very happy it all came off without a hitch. He teared up and everyone applauded. Everyone in the cast gushed over the romance and it made me feel very good. After a week of yuk at work I made up for it in a minute by coming down here for a surprise.

Spontenaity is good and it clears the mind! I recommend it.

There is a party late this afternoon after the closing of the show. We will attend and then we will have High Tea early tomorrow at

Reynolds Tavern

We will then drive back to New York and being living the rest of the summer.

All in all, it's been a loverly weekend.

It is wonderful to see Dear Ginny back among us.

Much love and hugs for a speedy recovery (from Anthony too, he was very glad to hear you survived and are on the road to recovery).
