DR Jane, my library got two copies of LIVE TO TELL today. The first two have gone out and now i'm number 6. I guess that's not bad since I only reserved it a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully there will be some fast readers in the bunch!

Just opened my Promises Promises CD and I noticed that Donna McKechnie is listed for Turkey Lurkey Time, as well as in the photo, but is not on the cast list?

I hadn't noticed that!  She's there on the front cover but not in either of the cast lists. . .

Well, actually...the 30th anniversary edition gave it away on the cover.  What were they thinking??  So, here it is again:

Had a late lunch (1 p.m.) to celebrate a co-worker's birthday.  Went to Oakland's "Pican" restaurant.

My damage:

Crawfish & Mushroom Etoufee
Blackened Alabam Catfisha served with spicy crab grits and garlicky green beans.
"Bourbon and Coke" -- a chocolate Coca-Cola cake with a caramel ganache and served with creme fraiche.

OOF-tah!  I'm stuffed.  I'm almost miserably full.

But Oh-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h how good it all was!

We also had potato fries and yam fries, both served with a dip of BBQ-mayonnaise.

PROMISES PROMISES London cast recording package has arrived here as well.

Mine arrived Saturday.   Downloaded it to iTunes yesterday to synch to my iPod nano.

Couldn't help listening to it.

It sounds fantastic.  Very interesting, very different and very rewarding.

Did you call the police? That is suspicious behavior.

I called the police, our neighborhood security and got his tag and a good look at him as i drove by when he was pulled over.

In today's notes, BK puzzles:

Quote
When did the entire city of Los Angeles and environs completely subvert the parking meter situation, changing what used to be a six o’clock cut-off time to eight o’clock and thereby making it almost impossible to go anywhere? What sickening, stupid idiot made THAT decision and how can we get whoever it is fired?

Answer: The stupid idiots were youre elected City Council representatives:

NAVIGATE HOLLYWOOD

Quote
As of July 2008, parking meter rates and hours of operation were adjusted to better match the heavy demand for parking in Hollywood and throughout Los Angeles. Currently, the revenue generated by the estimated 40,000 city parking meters in $20 million. The net increase from the rate hike is estimated to generate an additional $18 million annually.

Please Note:  New overhead signs indicating the time limit and hours of operation will be posted, beginning on Saturday, March 28. Posting efforts will continue through April 12.

Rates
Parking meter rates throughout the city of Los Angeles have been adjusted to a minimum of $1-per hour, with some rates up to $2, $3 and $4–per–hour. Please note: In Hollywood, parking meter rates do not exceed $2-per-hour.

Hours of Operation
The parking meter hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. In entertainment and shopping districts, such as Hollywood, where the demand for parking extends even later into the night, parking meters operate from 8 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights; and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Variations from these hours are planned in observance of peak hour restrictions, valet services, religious services, etc.

All residents reap the consequences of the politicians elected by a minority of the eligible voting population.

OK - our dinner menu tonight includes baked potatoes.  Any suggestions for low sodium/low fat/low cholesterol toppings?

What a busy little day this turned out to be.  We actually had quite a few packages to ship, including a couple of complicated orders.  Then we Xeroxed music and got Pam Myers' stuff sent to her.  Now I have to send mp3s to the LA based singers, and they can all pick up their music anytime.

I had to deal with an easy banking matter (for my personal account - has to do with switching over to online banking, which means no more fees ever).  Picked up packages, picked up mail, ate lunch at Hugo's and now I'm waiting till digestion is done at which point I'll do some sort of jog.

Lawry's Lemon Pepper - only 80 mg Sodium per serving...

Land O Lakes Light Butter (only 5gm of fat)

or...top with a tasty chopped mushroom sauteed in olive oil

I have found that I can use Lawry's Lemon Ppper ( but none other) in place of salt on almost all my veggies even sliced tomatoes.

I am tired. It's been a long day.  I ended up having an immigration hearing that wasn't on the calendar.  Luckily they called to tell me it would be late so I was able to get my client to the office.  There really must have been something distracting Edith, she doesn't usually miss putting things on the calendar.  I don't think it was intentional
