I didn't think I was going to see any black squirrels until I walked into the park near the courts building and there were about 10-11 of them running around.  Cute little buggers

We had a few of those cuties in Michigan.

It is currently 90 degrees in Tacoma, and headed for a high of 91.

101 in town this afternoon, 94 degrees at the house.

Yesterday, I had my six month eye exam.  My glaucoma numbers are only borderline acceptable.  I have got to remember to take my second eye drop in the morning as well as at night.  I just can't seem to get it in my head, but I must.

Keep a note on your toothbrush & don't brush until after you use the drops.

Oops, sorry, I disappeared for a while because we were having a doozy of a thunderstorm.  And I was opening 2 delightful packages that arrived in the mail today:

--a Vera Bradley item from my girlfriends

--2 boxes of See's Candies Little Pops Gourmet Hard Candies from DR Jane, Keith, and Sherlock.  I'd suspected they were "legal" for me and the labels on the box confirm that they're low fat/low cholesterol/low sodium.  Thank you, DR Jane!

We figured you need something sweet while you are denied so many of your favorite foods.

It is quite warm today in Sherman Oaks.  This hotel has a gorgeous rooftop pool and the whole family, all the cousins and all, just had a marvelous swim together.  It's cool for my kids to have so many cousins--I grew up in a very, very small nuclear and extended family, and it's really heartwarming to see all these kids play together who have grown up around each other.

You are lucky.  Our cousin keeps complaining how cold it has been in L.A.  I'm sure she wishes it wasn't soooo hot here.

And where might I ask is, for example, dear reader Jane?

I hope by now you have figured it out.  I didn't expect to have time at all to pop in today.  I won't be tomorrow.

She announced the other day that they had out of town guests arriving.  (Don't you read her posts, BK?)

Thank you DR TCB. :)

I think it is amazing that Jane posted so quickly after her accident; and now I am amazed at Ginny back to posting so soon, when she isn't hiking to the RAGTIME Prologue.

It was about the only thing I could do ;) ;D

JMK is in LA, doing family stuff, attending Bar Mitzvahs - as the never returning Jose would say - just sayin'.  We just miss our little Jane when she lets family obligations get in the way of her being here.

This is my 13th post in a row, where are you ;)

While driving to Grizzly Peak to hike this morning we saw a young (guessing by the size) black bear run across the road.  I was excited & clapping my hands, not so our cousin who was a little nervous we would see one while hiking.

I am pleased with myself for driving the mountain road once again.  I did stop the car before clapping my hands. No, there were not any other cars around, plus we were on a quiet dirt road. :)

I shall be wearing my Shape-Ups to the Bar Mitzvah party at the Country Club, much to DW Wife Betsy's dismay.  ;)

Richard took me out to dinner tonight - Skyline Chili.  I had a small 4-way bean with the cheese on the side.  It's amazing how little of that cheese I actually used.  Then we walked down the block for a frozen yogurt - small choc/vanilla swirl cone.  Big Saturday night in M'town!

BK, would it take very long to traverse Laurel Canyon Blvd. from Ventura, should I deem to visit Amoeba tomorrow?

This past week I've been satisfying my sweet tooth with Tootsie Pops - the chocolate ones and raspberry, which I pretend are Graeter's raspberry chip ice cream.  My treats from you will provide some nice variety.

That made me laugh! And I do play it as loud as I can without bothering the wonderful lady who lives in the apartment below me.

About an hour ago there was a huge crash above me, as though a chair were overturned. I hope he broke his neck.
