I just got off the phone with her - at this point, it's not life-threatening and they think chemo will get most but not all of it and she could and probably will have many more years of life.  That was a little unclear in her e-mail to people and I suggested she write another and add what she told me, which she's doing now.  I told her that whatever help I can be I will be - including taking her wherever she needs to go, sitting with her, whatever.

That's more encouraging news, BK. Sometimes there are success stories, like Vixmom and my sister.

I lost my best friend to cancer 15 years ago. It's an awful thing.

Glad the news about your friend Debby is better news then before, BK.

Still, I send my best vibes her way!

Prayers for Debby.

I feel, and have often voiced, the exact same sentiments, BK--how in frell can we have achieved so much technological wonderment and still not have conquered this disease?

Prayers and Vibes for Debby.

Today's outings were tons of fun. We took my mom along, and we all had such a great time.  We went to Alcatraz, shopping along Fisherman's Wharf, a drive through North Beach and dinner at Bucca De Beppo.  Tomorrow, my family is coming over for a BBQ and our PA guests will be flying out at midnight.  We had such a great time, it will be sad to see them go.

Vibes to bk and his friend Debby. Yep, a most damnable disease -- but at least they have made great strides through the years thanks to all the research in helping folks to fight it and still be with us. Lost many, but have saved many, too -- so here's to more inroads and it's eventual eradication. I feel the same way about Alzheimer's.

Hi, Miss Karen!  Nice to see you!

Always a pleasure to see you my dear Jorge! Where is everyone? It's not like it's almost midnight on a Friday night or anything... Guess bk will be cutting us off here soon.
