Good morning, all! I was out of bed at 6:18 with much to do this morning: barber, post office, Toyland and whatever fresh hell rolls down the pike. Last night I had to spend an hour juggling recording schedules in early October to accommodate one of my singers who got a request to perform with a Florida symphony orchestra and that meant juggling three singers and their times around. I think we are okay now with that situation. Then, I learned one of my copyists' checks was returned for the wrong address and that was another set of inquiries and mail. Life goes on.

TOD:
DVD: three Netflix items sitting here, THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW
CD: Kurt Weill, Jacques Offenbach, Judy Collins, Guy Hanes

Morning, all. An early morning for me, considering I went to bed not that long ago.

If someone who recorded SOUTH PACIFIC on one of their electronic devices could make me a copy, that would be very nice.

TOD:

DVD - Let's Go Collegiate and All American Co-ed

CD - Never Too Late by Mr Vic Damone.  I bought the 45 rpm record and transferred it to a CD and it doesn't sound too bad for a 45 year old Warner Bros single....and the B-side at that.  It doesn't seem that the song was on any album....so I guess it only exists on the B-side of "Tears for Souvenirs".

Lincoln Center had wonderful booklets about the history of the show which they were giving away. I wish I had snagged more than one; I would love to share them with fans of the show.

Now I'm thinking of different shows and their "I Want" songs.

I really liked the version of "Somewhere That's Green" from bk's benefit show.

I still have 2 more titles in the new Errol Flynn Collection to watch (i.e. UNCERTAIN GLORY, OBJECTIVE BURMA!).
Also, MAD MEN, Season 3.

I'm also expecting the most recent seasons of DEXTER and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, but they may not get here before next week.

In the "I Want" song category, I've always loved "A Real Nice Band and a Terrific Crowd" from "Ballroom" in which the character Bea makes her mind up as to what she wants and works up the nerve to go for it.

Friday morning greetings!  Another take-it-easy day here, except for my cardio walk and a trip with Richard to the grocery.

Greetings from Toyland! I've been to the barber at Rockefeller Center, then the post office, and here I am at West 27th Street.  So far all is quiet, and I have some things to occupy my time until Mr Skip Kennon arrives. I wish a nap were one of them.

I found something that helps the knots/pain in my upper legs (from biking).

I got it at the dollar store (but have seen it elsewhere). It's like a little hot pack. You pinch this silver coin in it and it heats up. And then the next times you put it in boiling water. It really seems to loosen my muscles.

For some reason I woke up this morning with a hankerin' to listen to '1776,' so I have the revival cast on.   I really like the orchestrations of this version.  I saw the National Touring Company (with most of the OBC) when I was a kid--in fact, it may well have been the first touring show my father ever took me to, at the Seattle Center.
