Alas, since I'm about to embark on another Birthday Walkabout, I'm going to be a bit scarce today here on HHW, but before I head down to the Brooklyn Bridge...

-Nothing "happened". Although after almost three months(!!!), ConEd is still working on the lines to the building next door.
-No one offended me, or drove me away from the site. Trust me, if someone had, I would not have gone quietly.
-I have missed all of you and this wonderful community, this Family. And I'm terribly sorry for causing anyone any worries or concerns. It was simply a loss of momentum. And, well, now... PUSH!

DR JOSE - my birthday twin - I cannot tell you how nice it is to see your avatar around these here parts again.

I changed mine.....now I have a black hat and grass growing out of my head.....and I am 60 years old.  YES - 60 years old.

And since people do NOT live to be 120, I am well past middle aged.  OY!  As DR JMK would say.

BK,

I watched the 3 Josef Von Sternberg silent films 2 weeks ago.  His work blew me away, and I can see where Orson Welles and some of the revered film noir directors might have been influenced by his films.

THE LAST COMMAND is the best of the three.  The other two, in my opinion, are marred by the performances of George Bancroft, who seems to think he is doing a stage play...in a large theater.

Hmmm, a birthday walkabout must include lots of food, right?  I am actually starving.

And surprisingly, I am not groggy. I took 1/3 of a muscle relaxant at 9pm. And it made me very drowsy then. And I was able to sleep only waking up a few times (and the pain was much better in my back).

I am just happy that I'm not completely groggy (even though 1/3 of a pill is probably the dose for a 5 year old).
