Oh, and I forgot the other big news.  Word on the street is that they are going to double our health care premiums and double or triple our deductibles.

When it rains, it pours. :(

That must be why it is raining in Tacoma today!

I am back for a moment.  I just saw a story that the whole Joaquin Phoenix thing is all a hoax!  That is Bull!  They should have to refund the ticket price to every person who payed to see that mockumentary.

Sorry.  When I read the story my response was "Duh" ;D

Sherlock received the all clear from the vet and doesn't have to return.  She plans on using the cream, that worked so well, more often on other pets.

Had to deal with an insurance agent today about health insurance rates. It seems like mine will likely triple at the end of the month when COBRA runs out. There goes every last free cent I have and then some.

I need a job.

Thanks John.  We can give him a bath now too. :)  Funny just last weekend someone comment how clean he felt.  I guess all the brush pays off even if we think he is dirty.  I feel bad for him because I know a bath will make his skin less itchy.

Great pics from DR JOSE yesterday - a niece & DR EDISAURUS and Greg!

I forgot to mention that! Great photos. Your niece is adorable, and I miss Amy & Greg!

I will be completely absorbed by this recording until the sessions are over, and I apologize now.

Miss you, too, Lar---I hope your sessions go better than you could ever imagine!

Why is the Joaquin Phoenix - Casey Affleck film called I'M STILL HERE?  Anything to do with the Sondheim song?

I'm at work right now, but just about to leave.  I have to bring a DVD to my niece, but that shouldn't take long...then back home to finish what needs to be finished (my resumé).  But then I still need to photocopy a couple of things at work tomorrow, and THEN it'll all be done.

And The Song Of The Day Is:  I WANNA BE AROUND TO PICK UP THE PIECES

That song has an interesting history. People used to send Johnny Mercer song ideas all the time and he would throw them all into a drawer. A lady from Ohio, Sadie Vimmerstedt, sent him this line as a song title because she was upset about Frank Sinatra leaving his wife! Johnny ran into it one day and decided to make it into a song. (She sent it to: Johnny Mercer-Songwriter-New York and the post office got it to him!)

Johnny Mercer was one of the most generous people ever, (one of the many things not addressed in the recent bio doc) and this song is characteristic of that because he gave Sadie full collaborator credit and split the royalties with her 50/50, even though she had only provided the title. She went on a lot of talk shows, and told her story, and finally she told Johnny: "I'm tired! I think I'm going to get out of show business"!

She and her children took wonderful vacations every year form the royalty money and sent Johnny postcards from all over the world, which made him very happy!

I got a job out of the blue last week with TLC that's been keeping me busy. They basically handed me a bunch of tapes and asked for a sales tape for their "Family" shows. So I've had to load in episodes of LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD, LITTLE COUPLE, KATE PLUS 8, 19 KIDS AND COUNTING, and 2 new shows: QUINTS BY SURPRISE and SEXTUPLETS IN THE CITY.

I think watching these shows could be a safe and effective means of birth control that even the Catholics couldn't object to!

The Quints show is really good; I actually like it, and I don't normally like these sorts of shows!

The diva tenor situation is worse: the MD sent my private comments about the poor copyist to the tenor who's response was essentially was "he charges $80; Larry can proofread them. I just need approval from the producer." And in what copious free time do I perform this proofreading? And in what universe does the singer without the MD decide what's best for him?  My copy budget was closed last month and I am loathe to tell the producer we need to have more money spent on transpositions bcause a diva is trying to hold me over a barrel.

I suppose he's a great tenor because there's resonance where his brain should be.

I don't think he will be working with me again after this one.
