I want to see photos of bk's new 'do!

Well. if BK won't show his, here's the one I got yesterday.

As you can see, Annie does not like having her picture taken.

This must be Surprise Thursday.  Everything seems to surprise me.  Well, except for MBarnum's engagement to Jack LaLaine.

I thought he was dead!

Oh, you know good and well that I am still alive.

I'm waiting for the autopsy report.

TCB, things are tough in Washington, wow. Our situation in Oregon is still up in the air. There are lots of cuts down the road, but nobody knows yet who will be cut the most.

Yea for Friday and the weekend.  8)

I need to be very serious this weekend about sorthing through the rest of the stuff I want to get rid of, before the cold weather in this here Ventura sets in.  I'm not sure how damp things get inside the house.

I'm not sure how cold I'll be either, there were no heaters in 1912 (and no heater now).  Socks, sweatshirts and blankets have kept me warm.  :)

Sherlock received the all clear from the vet and doesn't have to return.  She plans on using the cream, that worked so well, more often on other pets.

Great News!!! Tails are wagging for Sherlock!

It's very queer
Our Lear is here to stay

LEAR BLUE TUESDAY

On a Lear day, you can see Cordelia.

Well, that "nice cat" is now in deep doo-doo, because that's what she just did next to her litter box.

Great news, Jane!!
And the word of the day is: DIMINUTION!

And The Song Of The Day Is:  I WANNA BE AROUND TO PICK UP THE PIECES

That song has an interesting history. People used to send Johnny Mercer song ideas all the time and he would throw them all into a drawer. A lady from Ohio, Sadie Vimmerstedt, sent him this line as a song title because she was upset about Frank Sinatra leaving his wife! Johnny ran into it one day and decided to make it into a song. (She sent it to: Johnny Mercer-Songwriter-New York and the post office got it to him!)

Johnny Mercer was one of the most generous people ever, (one of the many things not addressed in the recent bio doc) and this song is characteristic of that because he gave Sadie full collaborator credit and split the royalties with her 50/50, even though she had only provided the title. She went on a lot of talk shows, and told her story, and finally she told Johnny: "I'm tired! I think I'm going to get out of show business"!

She and her children took wonderful vacations every year form the royalty money and sent Johnny postcards from all over the world, which made him very happy!
Love the Mercer stories. His lyrics for "The Good Companions" are aces in my book. And I treasure that volume of complete lyrics that came out last year.

I know that in my dreams tonight Johnny Mercer will be working a musical version of "King Kong" and "King Lear" combined. With a title like "Two Kings." Songs will include a duet between the nude, mad Lear and the wounded Kong as they rage, "When we are born, we cry that we are come/To this great stage of fools." I can hear a Charleston for the melody.

we had some very violent weather - there is some talk that there was a tornado in Staten Isladn  and Brooklyn

trees were down all over squishing cars  and killing someone in Queens .. I am happy I had our half dead tree removed the other day

Vixdad  eneded up witha 4 hour commute, packed in like sardines  because so many of the train lines had to be cancelled due to debris on the tracks  black outs all over the place - luckily we were spared

I hear they clsoed Penn Station because of ovecrowding

It's not that Hamlet that excites me
That thrills and delights me
Oh, no, it's just the Learness of you.

Good Evening!

Well... Apparently there was enough damage from the storm earlier in Queens that some subway lines were "disrupted", and almost all of the LIRR was shut down.  Right now, I have a friend on a QM7 bus that's been sitting on the bridge for the past hour.  And there were still a whole bunch of stranded commuters standing on the platform at Penn Station who were waiting for an E train at 11:00.

DR TCB -  :-\

*Have you checked what the starting salary is at Wal-Mart? ;)

-Alas, I guess there is some "comfort" in the fact that you're not the only one affected by the upcoming cuts.  And in this day and age, better to be "reduced" rather than "released".
