Mostly people at WOW today who want to walk around and touch everything and then ask you a hundred questions.....after the 3rd question, I tell them they need to make an appt for a reading - which usually shuts them up....usually.

Hello from New York!

I took BoltBus--my first experience on a bus to NY --it wasn't bad--it took about 4 1/2 hours from DC.

Looking forward to the reading/signing and get-together afterwards!

It wasn't live after all - taped and will air next week - I'll know in advance.  Taping was okay - it's one of those things where the subject is in a room talking to someone in the studio so I was looking at a monitor and had an earpiece for the audio.  But I don't like looking at the monitor so I was probably a little ill at ease.   I made a big mistake and walked forty blocks back to the hotel.  A mistake because from the time I left till after the taping it got VERY hot.  I was sweating like a pig by the time I got back here.  I'm cooling off the room and waiting for housekeeping to come clean the room.

Is this something that some people(s) in NYC might possibly be able to record for those of us not in NYC who would like to see this??

About the same if you drove.  No wonder people take the train. ;)

Went downstairs and had a Diet Coke and figured out what sections I'll be reading.  Basically the same as I've done twice before, although this time if it starts to feel long I won't do the third section.

The way they've got it mapped out is that we do an hour for the reading and discussion - it takes me about thirty minutes to read all three sections, which leaves thirty minutes for the questions and discussion, so that seems good to me.

I may have to eat some sort of sweet for a little energy boost.  I guess I can pop open the chocolate Twizzlers and just have two.

Hypothetically only - if one is running a little late, is there a way of joining the audience without disturbing the reading, or will they make one wait until that section of the reading is over?

It better not be you who's late.  I'd assume that anyone can join the reading in process - I don't mind - unless it's YOU.

Hello, everyone.

Glad BK had a smooth trip.

VIBES FOR A GREAT READING, BRUCE!

(I don't need to send vibes for the gathering at Joe Allen, because we all know that'll be fun.)

Where did you see eight guests, Bruce? It reads two. Maybe BK has access to additional information about the site.

Er, whoever it is will surely be thin as a sylph and be able to slip in inconspicuously.  Yeah, that's the ticket.

So, I had blood drawn, did my regular cardiac rehab routine, and stopped at the grocery store on the way home.  Pretty exhausted!

In Cincinnati entertainment news, the South Pacific tour is here and getting rave reviews.  Also, Idina Menzel is performing with the Cincinnati Pops this weekend and our niece/goddaughter and I are bummed because we can't go together.  Lauren's in Missouri with the Miami football team for tomorrow's game and won't be back until too late on Sunday.

bk and company - "ABC News Now: What's the Buzz" is part of ABC's 24-hour news service which is available "cable, broadband & mobile".  "What's the Buzz" runs at 1:00pm Weekdays, and I'm guessing it's available "on demand" after that.  For more info, CLICK HERE.

Well, I didn't find BK, but I got to watch a great interview with Nathan Fillion.

Another lazy day here. We did the ski lift, which did all the work for us. The rest of the time was restful.

Eddie Fisher....I guess for me that comes under the category of .... "I thought he was....."

I only saw Eddie Fisher live once.  In March of 1969 I was in the audience for a taping of the MERV GRIFFIN SHOW in New York.  This was the show with Arthur Treacher as his sidekick.  The first guest was this almost total unknown named Malcolm McDowell and he was promoting his film IF.

Then came Eddie Fisher.  He was so drunk that I kept expecting him to fall out of his chair.  He rambled on and on about nothing important, and then Merv asked him to sing.   He staggered over to the orchestra and I kept thinking that this was going to be a trainwreck.  All of a sudden the orchestra, or rather an orchestra, starts playing and old Eddie tries very unsuccessfully to lip sync to this great new song.  It was a total embarrassment. He couldn't remember the words, he wasn't even close to coming in on the right note.  It was awful.

But when I watched the show when it was broadcast, that director had done wonders.  The song looked to be the only good thing about his appearance.  They cut in and out with the cameras.  They faded out with one caemra and came up behind him with another.  It was amazing.  You would think that he never missed a word.
