Oh! I almost forgot.  I mentioned the Symphony is doing A Night at the Movies...they are doing this too

I do have a great sequins gown, but I think I may have donated it to charity. I'll have to look

Perhaps you could go and buy it back!

We are off now on a mission of mercy for my mother - to buy Scotch and deliver it to her.  She's been out for a while and says she can't sleep without it.  Who's gonna argue with someone who turns 92 next month?

I probably won't be back until after my book group meeting tonight - bye for now!

I say let them drink Scotch!

Even when I drank, I couldn't stand the taste of scotch.

I LOVE good aged scotch!!!  No ice for me. :)

And on the happiest note of all, two of my clients who were previously considered to be in the country illegally got their green cards today!!   One is a 16 year old artist.  I took the case pro bono and he's going to paint me something as payment.   He won an art contest here, so who knows...

Congrats and great news!  And please post a picture of the picture when you get it! :D

He said he wants to get a good canvas.  I told him there's a spot over my desk. So, whatever it is, it will hang over my desk, at least for awhile.

Maybe he will offer to paint you in the nude!

No, I'm not posing for a 16 year old

Does this mean you would pose for a 50 year old ;)

Thanks for the vibes.   Actually there was lots of good news today.  Ricky has to stay isolated for a couple more weeks, but the vet doesn't think we need to do the pills.  She said it isn't that bad of a case.  Since the pills have bad side effects, this is more good news.

Do you have a pair of knee-high boots?

You could tuck the bottom of a pair of tan pants in the boots so that they look like jompers, add a sport coat with an ascot add a beret and you can go as a silent film director.

My niece stayed home from school today because she threw up yesterday.

She threw up last week on Tuesday. And now this week on Wednesday. I don't think she's ever thrown up before (at age 5).

I felt so bad for her today because she was crying that her tummy hurt. My mom thought maybe it was gas (she did not throw up today). :(

You could go as John Smithee!

Until later!

Keith will let me know if I have email while I'm in Chicago as I doubt I'll be using a computer there.

Vibes to all while I'm gone.  I'm flying home on Tuesday.

We had a good discussion of Southern Women Writers - Lee Smith, Eudora Welty, Kaye Gibbons, Dorothy Allison, Zora Neale Hurston, Mary Lee Settle, and Kathy Reichs (which I think is a stretch).

This would be very fun.  I may go to Goodwill tomorrow and if they don't have my sequins gown, maybe they have knee high boots!

I don't think I've ever had Scotch.

When I was in college, my brother had come to visit me and bought a bottle of scotch. He drank some but left a lot of it.  I thought I hated it, so I didn't touch it until I broke up with a guy and felt so bad I decided to drink the nasty stuff.  I took one sip and burst out laughing....I liked it!  I have had many glasses since then
