Jose what is the name of the restaurant we ate lunch at in DC?  I was talking to Craig about the areas I've been to and the places I've eaten at.  That is the only one I can't remember, only that we went there from the library.  Where did I meet you for the play?

DR Jane - Zaytinya

It's part of Chef Jose Andrés' Think Food Group

I never remember the name-thanks.  I remember what a nice time I had and that the food was delicious, the important stuff. ;)

I think the worst Christmas movie I have ever seen is ONE MAGIC CHRISTMAS.  After watching that movie, I wanted to go out and hang myself; but I figured that might cheer me up.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I believe I threw my back out last night during the course of a coughing fit. Alas, since I've never thrown my back out, I'm not really sure I have. But something is a-twinging. ???

Careful, ribs can also get bruised coughing that hard.
Back, ribs, coughing, cold vibes!!!

Thank You, DR Jane.

-Although, at this point, the coughing is a result of my acid reflux.  But, yes, I have been very careful "prepping" my coughs when I can.  Strangely enough, I was dealing with a very tight lower back the past couple of weeks, but the coughing actually seems to have loosened things up a bit. Alas, it looks they may have loosened one or two things up just a tad bit mich, but, I have to say, I've been pain-free since earlier this afternoon.  It's amazing what switching from Tylenol to Advil can do.

Good news no matter how it was attained.  You are lucky you can tolerate Advil.

Are you sleeping elevated for the acid reflux?  You don't want to lie flat on your back.

Hanging yourself after seeing a bad movie?

Isn't that a bit drastic?

A very full day -- church all morning, and then a local production of "Hairspray" this afternoon.

Ours was similar - 2-hour drive, church, 2-hour drive, local community chorus performance of Handel's Messiah, in which Richard sang in the bass section.  Bonus:  DS Rob arrived from Michigan about 5 minutes before the performance began and sat with me throughout!

I have been doing theater now for the past 55 years, and I am just now getting used to people leaving a play or musical at Intermission.  I used to take it personally, but it seems that some people just leave shows, regardless of the quality of the production.  Sometimes  the play is longer than they expected, sometimes they aren't feeling well, and sometimes they got to see who they came to see, and figure there is no other reason to stay and watch a live theater production.

At today's Messiah performance, I wanted to tell the woman in front of me that it wasn't an athletic event and the woman behind me that the "Hallelujah Chorus" was not a sing-along.

After one of the worst first halves of football they have played all season (which is really saying something), the Seattle Seahawks came back in the second half to score 31 unanswered points to beat the Carolina Panthers.

Finished getting all the material for the Gardenia show into iTunes.  Then I had to do some stuff for one of the two upcoming Kritzerland releases, gathering together everything to send to the mastering guy, plus adjusting the notes (I didn't write these particular notes, although they're certainly written in my style).

Arty and free for all Sunday?

Did we ever do worst Christmas movie?
Worst?  "The Santa Clause" would probably top my list.

Really I love that movie.  And I am not really a big fan of Tim Allen.

I agree, DR TCB!

I'm back from an interesting evening: I met DJ at his apartment at 6 and we talked through the song lineup and looked for a good moonshine song. At eight we went to an Irish pub on 45th Street where David Ludkin, who played Will in the WILL ROGERS FOLLIES tour and the Balladeer in the City Opera production of Britten's PAUL BUNYAN, was holding a hootenanny. The cast of BRIEF ENCOUNTER was there, playing along with David and the other musicians who included two accordionists, 3 guitarists, a bass, and a young lady on mandolin who clearly played only on occasion and didn't seem to mind that she was never in tune with everyone else. Thankfully, she didn't play in every number.

My friend Nick Corley, who's directing David in a Woody Guthrie show next month in London was there, and he and DJ and I had a good visit. When I left, a ukelele player had shown up, and I suspect the party will go on for some time tonight. It was great.

Now I want to see BRIEF ENCOUNTER.
