IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES, IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the best of times and also the best of times, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently singing The Best of Times from La Cows Aux Folles.

It's quite late, so I better hit the road to dreamland - but thanks to everyone here for making my birthday one of the best ever.

Good morning, all! This is the first McGlinnventory day in several weeks and we have much to accomplish. When I finish there, I will hie myself over to Toyland for some edits with Mr Skip Kennon before I head home.

Recurring dreams? I certainly have bizarre ones, but I cannot think of any recurring ones. Last night's involved the Central Pastry bake shop, some Russians, a lot of ballerinas, a staircase, and counting in 5's. I have no idea what I was doing in it.

Three sweaters for the price of one!!!

That's a bargain, if you like the style of the sweater!

I got an email offering a discount on SPIDERMAN tickets.....Orchestra Flying Circle through February 27 - the optimists!

Use code SMBWW1 to get $137 tickets for $79 or $142 tickets for $99.

For some reason they are pushing December 19 at 3 p.m.

If you don't want to use Ticketmaster, they just ask that you bring a copy of the email to the box office.  If someone wants it, I will forward it to you to print out.

As much as I liked INCEPTION, I liked this Disney comic much more:

I wasn't bowled over by INCEPTION.

It was okay, but 20 minutes too long.

I could never get that emotionally involved with the characters.

And, that fighting while bouncing off the walls and ceiling was really old-hat.

Frankly, I'd rather watch Fred Astaire dance on the walls and ceiling that see people fight there.

What is it with the fresh blueberries that have been available and cheap at supermarkets lately?  Usually they are $3.99 a cup this time of year, but I've been spotting them at summertime prices.

Have you been enjoying yours, DR Ben?

TOD:

Interesting question.

There have been some recurring dreams that I've had throughout my life, going back to my teens.  Nothing dramatic, just visiting a certain place or being with a particular person that didn't really exist.

But, the odd thing is that, as you grow older, you sometimes have to remind yourself that these people/places WERE just a dream.

[One recurring dream I had is that I was friends with Ronald Reagan...who I never met.]

Hmmm....

This might make the basis of an interesting novel.

My enthusiasm for going to see SPIDER-MAN has waned.  I had planned on going up to see it in previews this month, but then the 60 Minutes segment played and its pretty much sold out for the month, matinee-wise.  And the reports haven't been all that glowing.  I think I can wait until I start hearing better news about it.

Lots of reccurring dreams:  tornadoes, someone trying to force their way into my house through the front door, nuclear nightmares...

Not a recurring dream, but I did have a dream last night featuring our very own MBarnum.  He was at my old house for some reason and we needed to talk about something, but then he got in his car and left and I realized I didn't have his phone number.  Then I remembered he read a little site known as HHW so I could just post my question there.  Now if only I could remember what it was.  ;)

Recurring dream:  When I was in the 4th grade, we moved from the house I was born in to a beautiful custom built home in the mountains outside of SLC.  For a few weeks before Christmas vacation, I still went to my old school and my Mom would come pick me up and drive me to the new house.  In my dream I forgot she was coming and started walking home to our old house.  I suddenly remembered and ran back to the school only to see her driving off.  The dream ended with me walking down the freeway to our new house with my coat slung over my shoulder a la some record one of my sisters had when I was a kid.  I think it was "Streets I Have Walked" or something like that by Tony Bennett or someone of that ilk.

BK, ..speaking of lovers who meet in dreams, have you ever seen the old Gary Cooper movie, PETER IBBETSON based on a novel by George Du Maurier (it was also adapted into a play with John Barrymore).  Gary Cooper kills the tyranical husband of the woman he loves,  goes to prison.  The bond between the two lovers is so strong that they meet in their dreams, always staying young, never aging as they do in real life.  Eventually, they just spend their time sleeping so they can meet.  I haven't seen it in years, but you can see the problem.  With the two sleeping all the time and meeting idyllically in dreams, it becomes rather dramatically inert.  Or at least that's my ancient memory of it.

I think we must have had this TOD a long time ago because I am suffering from a serious case of deja vu right now, including posting that album cover.

My former employer's lawyers may be among the "guests" - or at least I suspect that based on the extensive googling they seem to have done.
