My dear friend in Pennsylvania who has been battling cancer could use some vibes.  On Monday she will learn what was found on her latest test.  I wish it were on Tuesday because on Monday her daughter is scheduled for a c-section.  I'm hoping the delivery goes well & my friend's news isn't too bad.

The alcoholic transient that started the fire this summer which destroyed 11 houses has been acquitted. :o  He wisely waived his right to a trial by jury.  While the judge has no doubt the guy started the fire he stated that prosecutors could not prove reckless endangerment beyond a reasonable doubt.

The accused has said ""All I know is I woke up, and there was a fire right down by my feet. And I woke up, and there was fire. And I tried stomping it out, I couldn't get it to go out, so I walked off and found some girl with a cell phone."

And now, I'm off to the theater...my parents are coming to see the show tonight, too. :)

Until later!

After his release, and receipt of a check, he made a statement "I got 30 bucks right now, so I'm going to go get some beer."

BK wrote: " No asking for notes from friends and then ignoring them.  It's just a different world now. "

I've felt this at times - why ask and then not do it?

But I realize that if I ask three people for advice and sincerely mean that I want ALL of their input, I then really have to balance the advice of all three people, and at times they're irreconcilable.    It doesn't mean the input wasn't seen as valid, or that the request of all three or five wasn't sincere.

And very often, with lyrics, people will say this line doesn't work for me, I believe them, but can't come up with something better.   it makes no sense to change something just to avoid hurting someone's feelings that their advice wasn't taken if the writer can't come up with a better solution, does it?

BK - They're not searching on this site's search engine, they are googling and finding out info - I think it only relates to the unemployment insurance issue, though.  And of course, they can just drop in anonymously as guests here.

Just because someone might be paranoid doesn't mean someone's not really out to get them.  :)

I don't know why but I am so happy. I took my niece on Sunday to ride the Christmas train and so she could bring in her picture to Santa. There was a contest where 30 kids get to have breakfast with Santa. My sister just called and my niece won. :)

Because it is exciting news. :)

When my niece got home from school my sister called me and told me to pretend I didn't know.

Then 2 minutes later the phone rings.  "Auntie, do you know what? I'm having breakfast with Santa!"

Sorry kitty got returned. I can't believe that lady forgot her daughter is allergic to cats. Who just takes home a cat without thinking about it? And then who returns the cat right away?

Vibes for DR Jane's friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Glad DR Cillaliz had a nice day with the family.

I was so mad earlier today that I lost my appetite (and that is rare for me) :)

I don't get why my library only loses my reservations when it's a book I'm dying to read.

There is a book that is the final book of a series that came out this week. Since my library has not currently computerized suggestions I know that it happens that sometimes the reservations get lost.

So since I reserved this book 6 months ago and since I have been waiting to read this book I went to my library last week to verify that they had my reservation and to find out what place I was in for the book.  She found it and told me i was first.

So I keep checking my library's website every hour. And they got the book yesterday and it was able to be taken out today.

So I look in my account. And not only am I not first but the book does not even show up in my account. And they gave it to someone else.

So I call and am put on hold for a long while. They can't even find my reservation.

Finally they find it and say i reserved it June 10th and some other unknown person reserved it June 2nd and they took it out 15 minute after it was processed. Does this even make sense? I doubt anyone else is as obsessive as I am. And where did this reservation magically come from? It wasn't there last week (or it was misplaced).

I know it's only a book. But I've spent all week reading about other people reading this book.  If my library had told me I was second or twentieth I would have accepted it. But to tell me I am first (I would normally always be first for a book I reserved 6 months ago unless it was hugely popular) and then have me checking and checking. And then for me to go there and they have the reservation. And then today suddenly it was lost ... well I hope this person is a fast reader.
