Don't know if this was posted yet, I'm not through all the posts. It's the Today Show's story on Spiderman.  The video shows the fall

http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=618858&GT1=28101

Considering how many people managed to "catch" the fall on their cell phones, perhaps Miss Patti LuPone needs to make an appearance at Spider-Man.

On my way to work, I was listening to Seattle's All Christmas station.  One of the carols that they played was GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN.  I really disliked that carol as a kid, but it is now one of my favorites.  Anyone else have a change of heart about a carol, once they grew up?

I came to hate "The Little Drummer Boy."

I could not tolerate it when I was young, now I can tolerate it at times. ;)

That is kind of the reverse, but okay.

The weather in Chicago is good for flying as is the weather in Salt Lake City, yet Bryan & Kate's Delta flight has been canceled.  The connecting flight in Utah is still flying.  It seems Delta doesn't have a plane.  Bryan & Kate have been rescheduled for tomorrow on an earlier flight that leaves them with a three hour delay in Utah so we still have to pick them up at 11:00PM.

I am not a happy camper.  In the good old days they would have been put on a competing airline since it is the airlines fault.

Delta and NW merged so a lot of the Delta planes come out of Minneapolis.  they've had lots and lots of snow so I'm sure it's impacting flights everywhere

I should have thought to check the weather in Minneapolis, thank for clearing that up.

It has turned out for the best.  We needed more time to get ready while taking advantage of not having Yogi here and the airline extended their return home a day.  We still get them for four days and now they have a return flight at 1:00PM instead of 6:00AM.

I hope they aren't delayed again tomorrow.  I always feel bad when Bryan ends up spending his birthday (23rd) on an airplane.

Do they fly into Portland?

Mikey, you didn't take your niece to see NUTCRACKER? I would think it would appeal to you: toy solders, a magic Christmas tree, an evil Mouse King, a simple plot, men in tights; it's got your name all over it.

As much as I love ballet I have never been a fan of the Nutcracker, even when I was very young.

I have begun the task of finally moving stuff out of various rooms and into the garage, so that everything will be in its place and where I can find it.  I've done the living room, save for a couple of little things - next up, the book room, followed by the den.

Then you missed the whole point of it! It isn't really for children and it's one of the most difficult pieces to do well. Very few succeed.

If it isn't intended for children I must have been wise enough to know that ;)

Well, I'm off.  A friend is having a potluck Yule feast to celebrate the solstice and I'm bringing meatballs...the same kind that I made for last week's potluck at work. :D

Until later!

I used to dislike "Good King Wenceslas" (sp?) until I heard Mel Torme' do a swing version of it. Now, I like the song. How could you dislike a song with the lyric, "Bring me flesh/Bring me wine"?

Dear Ron, thank you for the picture.  Last time this eclipse took place on the same day as the winter solstice was in 1691(?) or so NPR said, in the time of Galileo.
