Here's a little topic for discussion - what was the first online purchase you ever made.

My very first on-line purchase was a set of King Kong and the Empire State Building salt and pepper shakers.

Here is a picture of the ring that Richard gave me for Christmas:

That was one beautiful ring!

How do you see the entire amazon order history - I'd be interested to know what my first purchase was.

Log in to your account.  Under Orders, go to View Open Orders.

If you have no Open Orders, it will tell you  "No Orders Found."

Above that phrase is a box that says Show: Select different orders to view. [GO]

Select whatever year you want to look at, and hit the GO button.

ANd it looks like the first thing I ever ordered from Amazon was on Aug 3, 1999, a book called Lighthouse Horrors.

What Vincent said. :)

Well...

Uncle Jojo needed to take a break from being an "Uncle" earlier and headed to the movies...

I saw "Black Swan".

It's definitely a Darren Aronofsky movie. For better or worse - mainly for the better. Natalie Portman gives a good performance, but I really was impressed by Barbara Hershey.

I will say that I was not a "thrilled" as some others have been, but I think that has to do with the fact that I'm familiar with the ballet world, so there was no sense of "mystique" for me in that regard.  I also got a little distracted by the exteriors of Lincoln Center and the interiors of SUNY-Purchase. ;)

And then I went to see "The King's Speech".

What a truly beautiful movie. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are wonderful, and it was nice to see Helena Bonham Carter back in her "Merchant-Ivory" mode. ;)

The screenplay by David Seidler is a perfect blend of history lesson, suspense movie and "buddy picture". I left the movie theatre truly satisfied.

DR Ben - Glad to read that you and Ant made it back to Manhattan earlier tonight. As much as I actually like snow, it does sound like this blizzard is a true blizzard.  Stay warm, stay safe.

So, we are going to Las Vegas and got a great deal (air and hotel and transfers) and staying at the Aria Hotel for three nights.  We plan on seeing a Cirque show of some sort (I'd love to see "O") and Phantom and try out a restaurant or two.  It will be time away which I'm looking forward to as the next time the DP and I would have time to spend together would be in June.

Tomorrow, road trip to Disneyland with a few of my besties (the DP has to work)

But...

If any DRs in NYC feel like venturing to midtown tomorrow/today/Monday, a bunch of shows are offering special "Blizzard" tickets.  A couple of them have already been posted on Playbill.com as well as on the New York Times' website..

Roundabout is offering 1/2-price tickets to both The Importance of Being Earnest and Brief Encounter - along with $22 mezzanine seats for Earnest.

And Billy Elliot is offering $30 tickets for both of their shows tomorrow at the box office if you use the code, "I want the student rush ticket". -And you don't have to be a student. *The official blizzard offer is for $79 rear mezzanine tickets. The $30 ticket offer is being "advertised" by the cast and crew via Facebook and Twitter.

DR Jennifer - The day after Christmas is a HUGE shopping day here in The States. It's just not called "Boxing Day". I believe it's second only to Black Friday, the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I just watched Matt Smith (new Doctor Who) on Graham Norton's talk show.  Matt was pretty funny in the interview.
