Hello DR Elmore.  Merry Christmas to you.  I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday.

I did, dear! I hope you did as well. I missed seeing you at Skip and Fred's on Friday night.

The snowfall, as DRJulie reported, has begun. It's quite lovely out. I've been to the market for paper towels and a few staples in case I want to stay in and avoid the storm and the following closedown of the area, if it gets bad.

I'm up.  The rain was short-lived - it was really coming down when I went to bed, but the sun is attempting to come out now.

Here's a little topic for discussion - what was the first online purchase you ever made.

Happy Day After Christmas to All!

I had a wonderful Christmas with my family.  Well, almost all my family.  My great niece spent the most of the day at a hospital, going through endless test, to determine that the pain she was experiencing was a urinary tract infection.  We were getting periodic reports from my niece that ranged from kidney stones to ovarian cysts, but praise be that it was nothing that serious.  After all that, my great niece was taken to her father's home to rest and recooperate from her ordeal and my niece joined us in the evening.  Then we really began to party.

Hmmm...I'm thinking that it was an item won on an unofficial auction on the Prodigy vintage toy bulletin board.  But for the life of me I can't recall what it might have been.

The snow is starting to really come down here in the South of Jersey.  I think I might run out just to get the car gassed up and to pick up the Sunday paper.  I'll be back later...

I was trying to remember my first online purchase.  Obviously it was long before paypal existed and it most likely would have been in the VERY early days of eBay, say 1997-ish, when I was given Web TV, which was my first experience getting on the Internet.  I found eBay and I'm thinking the first thing I won was some Pez machines (eBay began as a Pez auction site, but this was after they'd branched out).  The seller was local and we met in a Culver City coffee shop for the pickup.  After that, I was an eBay-aholic.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I think my first online purchase was a plane ticket. Or a CD.

Either eBay or Amazon.com, but I don't remember now!

I am home!!! Woo and Hoo.  I had a very good time, but was totally ready to leave this morning.   So, I packed up the car and hit the road as mom was leaving for church.  The cats were thrilled to see me.  Ricky and Boo have been playing and playing.  Callie greeted me, then I think she went somewere to relax and take a nap

Radio Shack sent me an email telling me that I have opened my gifts, it is time to accessorize.

Karen Foxers sent me an email telling me that I can make out with 10,000 local whores.

Anonymous sent me an email telling me that Viagra is on sale NOW!

Whew....this will be a busy day.  I don't know where to start.

When my ever-lovin’ Amy and I bid adieu to the Do on Christmas Eve, Bruce implored  us to post, post, post about our merry Do experiences. Earlier in the evening, however, Bruce also implored us to eat, eat, eat, which I did, did, did. And so, upon my arrival home post-Do, I realized that typing was out of the question; far too much spaghetti and sauce had been consumed and far too much Tuna Pasta Salad had been eaten.  Amy, being a more conscientious lurker, and a less voracious eater, posted yesterday — as I madly rushed about trying to wrap her gifts.

But now my post-Do notes are long over-Do and I must thank Bruce for his invitation, for his yummilicious Tuna Pasta Salad (which didn’t cause any allergic reaction, even though I’m allergic to the eggs in mayonnaise) and especially for his yummilicious pasta and sweet homemade sauce (he would divulge no recipe, but did say that that the sauce’s subtle kick came from, I believe, cayenne pepper).

The mood was merry and bright the entire evening, save for the moment when Bruce suddenly turned against the piece of fruitcake he had been enjoying and declared, "This is gross."  He tried passing off said fruitcake to singer Laura Wolfe, who was sitting to right, but she was having none of it. Throughout the evening, dish was dished, glowing tongues were ogled, Mummys were unraveled, children laughed, texts were sent to Colorado, Scottish gentlemen looked unamused, and scientific formulas regarding the ratio of jean size to heartache were discussed at length. It was, simply, a festive and faboo evening. Thanks, Bruce!
