Change of plan: Mr Skip Kennon cannot make it today for reasons of health and so I will head down to the NYPL Theatre Collection to spend some time on the Historic Newspapers Online. This is good.

I once again managed to burn a pan of boiling eggs by forgetting they were on a high boil and working on another project, in this case my subway and tax rceipts. Damn! I do this far too often.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And my backyard looks quite nice covered in snow and sleet. -And, thankfully, I don't have to trek around in it today.

You should bury them in the backyard. That's what DR Sandra does when she misboils eggs.

I did that once.

When I was nine. ;)

*Of course, it was my Dad who had discovered I had left a pan a boiling eggs on the stove, which, of course, had then exploded. -The eggs, that is, not the stove nor the pan.

We had this young couple over to the house for dinner last night.  He's a distant cousin and she's his g.f., 22-years old and a college student.

Maybe it's me.  I have no idea.  But, over the course of the evening, names like Orson Welles, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, John Dillinger, Al Capone, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Joe Biden, John Lennon and Charlie Chaplin (whose picture was on the wall) came up, and she had absolutely no idea who were were talking about.

 :'(

It's the same thing with my 19 year old nephew, though he is very much a John Lennon fan (along with the rest of the Beatles.)

It is pretty much impossible to get him to watch any movie made before 1995.  If it's in black & white, forget it--he will not even sit in the same room.  Judging from what I read on Twitter, he's not very different from others in his generation.

Well, that's better than having it. I'm sure she's relieved. And in need of qualified doctors.

This is why colorization is coming back. And no one seems to be speaking out against it.

On the other hand, I could see the younger generations point about some old movies--last night I watched A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT on TCM.  What a colossal bore!  And yet it was a hit in its initial release.  Go figure...

DR ELMORE check out Allison Hayes and Frances Farmer on Historic Newspapers, you may find some good reading.  Does Allison have a file at NYPL?

Atlas Shrugged

But most of the people I would like to cast are no longer active in Hollywood - or anywhere else for that matter.

TOD:

Played Basketball, Baseball, Football with my brothers and other relatives and friends.

Watch Hockey and MMA Fights on TV at times.

I think Hockey is my favorite sport to watch.....HD Hockey is most entertaining and I am sure it is even better in 3D but without Diffusion.
