Went to the farmers market this morning and tried out the new bakery at the Culinary Institute of America (aka CIA). Had a passion fruit cream filled pastry and a really good decaf latte. Then went and bought some white beets, oyster mushrooms, radishes and cabbage. What I'll make with all that is unknown to me at this time.

I heard that the set for Kings Speech (not sure which scene) was previously used for a porn movie.

There is photographic evidence on the internet.  It was a billiards themed gay porn flick that was filmed on the set that was used as the office where the speech lessons take place

I tricked Joshie this morning and took him to the vet for a recheck. So far, so good.

From Cilla:
Quote
Actually I wasn't sure what it was when I first heard the pounding.  I'll have to check my doorbell and see if it still works.  I can see out the window of the livingroom to the door and the officer had his flashlight on his face so I could see him.  It was clear to me right away that it was a police officer, but I did look to see his car in the street before I answered the door.  I was a bit cautious, I had no idea what he was going to ask me about.

I'm impressed he put the flashlight on his face & that you looked outside for his car-good thinking.  It sure beats the policeman who jiggled my bedroom door that lead out into our yard.  Keith's doesn't remember if the policeman who knocked at the front door, about the same time I was in the bedroom calling "Keith, Keith", shinned the light on himself.

Good morning, all! My last dream had something to do with a production of THE MUSIC MAN, one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and the score to WHERE'S CHARLEY? That's all I remember of it.

I have little to report today. I am heading down to Toyland shortly. I believe I'll be there for several hours. Following that, I will return here, catch up on the mail and other events, get together tomorrow morning's laundry, and chill out.

I have absolutely no Oscar thoughts. I 'm sure the winners will be happy and the losers will grin and bear it. I liked TRUE GRIT very very much, more than THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, and I suppose I wish it the best. I have the DVD of THE SOCIAL NETWORK sitting here, and I really wanted to see THE KING'S SPEECH. Unlike DR Nursie, I have no preconceived notions or negative thoughts about either.

I don't have negative thoughts regarding the King's Speech.  I defended the fact some history has been left out & had expected it to be prior to my reading the complaints.  It is the movie I'm looking forward to seeing the most.  I hope, once it is released on DVD, it meets my expectations.

Yesterday DR Jane wrote:

Try the breast stroke next time.  When I do the crawl stroke, my favorite, I only go all the way over with my left arm.  With my right I only go straight forward and back with my arm under the water the entire time.  Also wash your hair only using your good arm until the sore one feels better.

I'm impressed you can stay on a flutterboard without using your arms.

I didn't say that I didn't use my arms on the flutterboard. I have to hold the board. But I don't have to move my arms.

As for the breast stroke, i won't go fast enough doing that. But I do agree it would probably be easier on my shoulder.

I wonder if going straight forward and back would work. I might try that.

I don't go behind me with my right arm, only about as far back as my waist if that far.

Good luck.  I hope it helps.

I'm sorry to hear about Vixmom's computer virus. But I'm so glad to know it is only her computer and that she herself is ok.

I know.  When I first began reading I was initially concerned.

I'm back after a frustrating morning dealing with the old helper's boyfriend who is being anything but helpful - we're trying to get everything that he has back - I don't want any Kritzerland stuff anywhere but at Kritzerland - we've been trying for three days and finally we got half of it back today and supposedly the other half is coming Monday - if it doesn't, I'm afraid his girlfriend won't have a job when she's able to work again, and I told him that.

I think I'm going to say no to Death of a Salesman - it's just coming up too fast and it's the Gardenia week and I just won't even have time to look at the thing until Thursday.

Back from tending to my Mom and Aunt at the retirement community and a tarnished visit to Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Cincinnati.  I got there at 12noon for a 1pm author appearance and thought I had plenty of time for a nice lunch in their Bronte Bistro.  When I didn't have my omelette after 30 minutes I flagged down my server who told me it HAD been ready, but dropped, so they were making another.  At 12:45, I asked for a check for the coffee and was told not to worry about it.  On my way out, I asked the hostess if I could speak to a manager and she gave me such a hassle I told her to forget it.  I made my way to the program venue and was lucky to get a seat in the back.  Jennifer Chiaverini was, as expected, delightful, but the store has received a strongly worded complaint from me via their website.

Ginny, I hate it when things like that happen...especially if I have limited time.

Well, I have to get ready for my first rehearsal and some errand-running!  After that, I'm meeting a friend for dinner, so it'll be a long evening.

Have a good day, all!
