Back from tending to my Mom and Aunt at the retirement community and a tarnished visit to Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Cincinnati. I got there at 12noon for a 1pm author appearance and thought I had plenty of time for a nice lunch in their Bronte Bistro. When I didn't have my omelette after 30 minutes I flagged down my server who told me it HAD been ready, but dropped, so they were making another. At 12:45, I asked for a check for the coffee and was told not to worry about it. On my way out, I asked the hostess if I could speak to a manager and she gave me such a hassle I told her to forget it. I made my way to the program venue and was lucky to get a seat in the back. Jennifer Chiaverini was, as expected, delightful, but the store has received a strongly worded complaint from me via their website.
