Up too early for a Saturday.  DD Manny decided to be sick on the comforter, so when he was done, it went in the wash and I was up for the day.   Last 3 performances for Working this weekend.  I'm playing/conducting the 2:00pm show today - normally I'm just playing keyboard 2.  I'm not looking forward to it.  Way too much pressure.  I'm looking forward to this being over.

William and Kate.  WILLIAM AND KATE!!!

I don't know why I made that mistake, except that I had just read an article about Harry.

Probably because Harry is the really "interesting" one!

Greetings from Toyland! I have two shopping bags of books to tote uptown. Luckily the bus stop is a half block away.

I'm up.  I was up at five again, and didn't really fall back asleep till six-thirty.

DR Elmore, I think you are very wise to start getting your personal belongings out of Toyland.  Especially the things that have value/meaning for you.  With things up in the air it's a lot better to know you have your belongings that to worry that you will lose access to them at some point.

OK, I have to get my act together, clean up and get my butt to the theater.   I didn't volunteer to work the 2:00 showing of the film festival, but did promise to be a floater if they need me.  Luckily my office building is right next door to the theater and connected to it.  So, I can go work the beginning, spend and hour in my office go back to the theater for intermission and work in my office for an hour.....or stay and watch the movies, but I was planning to do that tonight...and I've already seen them once so.....

I know this sounds terrible, but although I enjoyed all the work I did getting ready for the film festival, I have no desire to be there now that it's happening.

It's funny because most people just want to volunteer for the day of the event and not the prep, lol.

Is there someone there that can help you schlep all your stuff today?  I would offer to come  in and lend a hand but I promised to take my Mom out today

No, but I thank you for the offer. Curtis is hoping we are re-employed. My dilemma is that I am not sure I want to be.

I know you have your issues with the home office, however, I thought you truly enjoy working on the project.

Jane asked about my cardiologist last night:  Is his name pronounced like mine?

Yes, you're DR Jane and he's Dr. Jain and your names are pronounced the same.

Thanks.  I couldn't think of any other way to pronounce Jain, just never seen it spelled that way.

I hope you do. I love film festivals!

DR cillaliz, thanks for the thoughts about clearing out my possessions. Even if the suspension ends, I'm not sure I want to continue working for this institute, no matter how much it offers me. This current tantrum from the one in charge has really dampened my enthusiasm.

I just finished watching the 6th season of WEEDS.

I really love the writing on this show.  Clever dialogue.  Great plot twists.

I'm at work.  Just before I left my house, a friend called me and we were chatting...and then he got pulled over.  He was talking on his cell phone and driving.  Evidently, he didn't have his bluetooth earpiece with him.  I didn't realize that.  He had to hang up (of course) and he hasn't called back yet.

I hope his ticket isn't too expensive. :-\

PBS is showing the most wonderful reunion of 1960s folksingers along with footage of them from the 60s. I was flipping channels and caught Peter, Paul and Mary singing "Lemon Tree" from the 1960s on some tv program. Judy Collins and Peter Seeger just did "Turn Turn Turn," and it was wonderful. I called DR Ben and left a message; the Chad Mitchell Trio will be on in the next hour.

Topic of the Day (in alphabetical order):

12 Angry Men
How the West Was Won
Mr. Roberts
On Golden Pond
Yours, Mine and Ours

I think that these are the only Henry Fonda movies that I've seen. ::)

Back from errands and whatnot.  I stopped at the mail place and picked up no packages but did get the important envelope.

The couple of hours I intended to do yard work at the church turned into several hours. I expect you will be reading about my achiness later tonight.

Even if the suspension ends and you return I doubt you will trust them not to do this again and prefer keeping your personal possessions at home.

Can you really afford to walk away? :(

I'm very glad I did the extra long hike yesterday as today has been a bit dreary.  It was beginning to rain as I left and then kindly waited until I returned home to begin raining again. :)  It is fairly comfortable temperature wise. :)

TOD: I know at some point I saw "Twelve Angry Men." I really remember when I saw the tour that came through town three years ago. I remember thinking exactly why I didn't want to be on a jury. Two days later, I received a jury summons in the mail.

True!  I just called him back a few minutes ago, but he didn't answer.  I guess I'll just have to wait for him to call me.
