Did you announce your new yet, Jose?

I haven't, but I guess now is as good a time as ever...

I was asked to come aboard Arena Stage's remount of Oklahoma! as the Assistant Conductor/Keyboard Player.  I start rehearsals back down in DC in June, the show opens in July, and it will run through October. And I will finally be making my long-delayed conducting debut in DC.

And that's my news. ;)

Congrats!

I'm taking a break from the d'Amboise bio. His chapters on Balanchine's final hospitalization and death, all the while the various cabals at City Ballet and the crazy Lincoln Kirstein were going on, are quite heartbreaking and moving. His warts-and-all portraits of Balanchine and Kirstein, who brought Balanchine to America to develop a company, are really magnificent. Kirstein, for a rich Jew, had a lot of negative anti-Semitic things to say about Robbins, but - for me -  Robbins and Balanchine set the standards for dan ce in this country and their talents render me speechless.

I think I'll ponder diinner and then go back to the book.

Lordy lordy lordy, but there are some real twits on the Cast Recording List, two of them Brits - and a former HHW poster - and a couple of them American! Speaking of castrecl, there have been no signs of William Lurie for some time now.

Back from a lot o' stuff, including delivering a big box o' CDs, lunch, picking up packages, and no important envelope, which will hopefully be here tomorrow.

Thanks. I'll take a photo of the sink after the light fixture gets re-affixed.

I bought the cooktop a few years ago. The original one was literally shocking me when I cooked. And I got a new oven back then, too.

I've also been dealing with some Bank of America stuff - they have, of late, become a little relentless about calling and offering new services - the problem is, they call and don't tell you what the call's about, so you get the impression there's something wrong when there isn't.  It happened two weeks ago and it happened this morning and I am going to have it stopped if I have to go all the way to the top of the BofA food chain.  I called back this gal who called and all you get, relentlessly, is her machine, which tells you to leave a number, the name of your business (a good indication that this isn't really about a problem) and she says she'll get right back to you.  Not.  I am now on a CRUSADE!!!

After I posted I noticed your oven looks new.  Shocking isn't a good idea.  We purchased a house that supposedly the dishwasher worked.  I was upset they didn't have the decency to tell me how dangerous the dishwasher was.  Fortunately I was the first one to attempt to use it and not the boys.

BK, I always cut them off and ask if there is a problem with my account. When they say "No, this is a courtesy call..." I cut them off again and tell them I have a policy of NEVER buying anything over the phone. Ever.

Yeah, I hate it when BoA calls. I'm seriously thinking of switching banks as a result of the calls I get. If I'm working at home, it's at least three a week.

Nice kitchen, Laura. What's going to be the first meal prepared in it?

Probably oatmeal.

But I have to get the stovetop hooked up again.

Friday morning greetings!  I've been over on Facebook, where my cousin in Japan has posted that he and his family are OK.  They live near Nagoya, which is pretty far from the quake and they're not in the path of the tsunami.  Sure puts my annoyance with last night's snowfall into perspective.

Great news!

I have lost the tabs at the top of my computer to link to my favorite sites.  Keith is not going to be pleased with me since I haven't a clue what I did or how to fix it.

And in other news...

I had mentioned it in passing a few weeks, but my landlord did indeed to sell the building. So... Long story short, I've been spending the past week packing up and cleaning my apartment. Most of my stuff will be going into storage, but I will be moving into a friend's place - he just booked a tour and needed a subletter , so...

And since two of my current apartment-mates were already moving out, and since it was proving very difficult to find new roommates, well...

It really seems that everything is falling into place, happening for a reason.

sorry about the need to move but perhaps with all the Con Ed issues and roommate issues it is  all for the best (a Godspell refrence)

Spent a couple of hours making room in my closet for the 10 new items I bought this week.  In addition to removing all the baggie britches, I found some things that I can wear again, after many, many years  ;D

Isn't that fun!? Congratulations!

This past Monday, I was playing auditions for the Tokyo Disneyland Resort and Disney Sea...

I really hope that all of the current Cast Members and their families have been able to communicate with each other. -At least I know that my friends who work in the casting and production office in Tokyo are currently in Orlando continuing their audition tour.

My goddaughter Charlotte was one of the auditioners.

Call back vibes for dgd charlotte
