Well, since I was practically a blubbering fool at the end, that was probably a good thing. ;)

If you go to DOG BLESS YOU on Facebook a $1.00 donation will be made to them.  It doesn't seem like much but so far they have collected 50,000 fans at $1.00 each.  The money raised supports their search and rescue teams which are currently in Japan or heading there.

They only have 8 or 9 days to raise up to $100,000.

Back from a small pastrami sandwich and some soup.  One thing Jerry's has really done right is their small versions of sandwiches, so you can now get reasonable sandwiches instead of those humungous things - they only have four ounces of meat in them.

It looks like we're cast now - I'm waiting for a final final okay from one performer who had to check with her husband, but I think we're fine now.  Our cast is Roger Befelor (Kim Huber's ever-lovin' and the Beast on tour with Beauty and the Beast), Kirsten Chandler, Dan Callaway (his fifth, I think), Juliana Hansen, and Alet Taylor, along with Melody Hollis and a TBD guest star.

Greetings from Toyland! I had a good meeting about "The Show," and I am at Toyland picking up a few personal items, like all of the original 1903 scores for BABES IN TOYLAND and programmes that I purchased with my own money. We've always been treated like the poor relations on this project.

I will now find a taxi and head home.

Vibes to your nephew Ginny.  I'd be very interested in any stories he may pass along

Thank you, DR Cillaliz!  We don't see him often and, even then, he's pretty reluctant to talk about his work.

Back from Choral Evensong and the local Episcopal church.  It was a lovely service and there was a nice reception afterwards.  Caught up with a lot of friends, one of whom had with him a pictorial directory from the Methodist church we attended until Rob was in high school.  This one was from the year before I moved to Middletown, so there were many pictures of Richard's family and of his mother's friends.

And I am home! I lucked out and got a taxi at once, so I didn't have to carry a heavy carton and shopping bag too far. Now for some dinner.

DR Ginny, I would love to see that directory!

DR Elmore - I'd love to look at the directory with you!  You'd have stories, I'm sure...

Has anyone seen Guy Fieri's live show?   I'm trying to decide if it's worth getting a ticket. Tickets for everything are so expensive these days it isn't that easy to decide what I want to do

I haven't been to his live show, but Doug from The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck has.  In fact, he even reviewed it for Eat Me Daily.  -And it's quite a review. ;)

I did run into Guy Fieri last summer during the New York Wine & Food Festival. He was drunk, loud and foul-mouthed, and he and his posse were also quite chauvinistic and asshole-y.

WOW< that was some review.  Don't think i'll go

Why is Kathy Garver at a western festival?

According to the imdb, she did episodes of some Western TV shows (e.g. THE BIG VALLEY, DEATH VALLEY DAYS, etc.)

The concert last night was wonderful

the opening number was all the kids from all the school singing together  and then each school did one or two numbers the second half was a set by The Potsdam Pointercounts
http://www.pointercounts.com/html/listen.php
a set by Stony Brook University's a capella groups and then a closing set by the Pointercounts.

BK, re: your restaurant problem. I agree with others who suggested telling the hostess you would be out by the time the reservations came to eat.  But also, if you knew you were going there why not make a reservation yourself?

Part 1 of my packing is done: all of my sheet music. 16 boxes.

All I have left to pack are my books, CDs and clothes. Thankfully, I've pared down my library, so there's not as much to pack as there originally was when I moved in here six years ago. Also, since I still had so much stuff in boxes, I don't have to pack those things up. ;)

And as I'm sitting here on the couch and starting to nod off, well...

I'm at least gonna get a few things set aside for another trip to Housing Works in the morning.

Laters...

Because in over ten years of going there I have never had to make a reservation at six o'clock in the evening - ever.  Weekdays, weeknights, empty at six.  Unfortunately, in making many reservations for seven they simply opted to keep the tables empty for an hour.

Some people, such as those  whose faces grace the walls of the US Post office, might think that was  GOOD thing!
