bk - Did you tell the hostess at Eclectic Cafe that you would be out well before their rush of reservations started? -Well, the hostess should have at least asked you that. After last night - and after being at the restaurant for a couple of busy nights - one thing I've learned (and been told): even "regulars" need reservations.

Had she asked that I would have absolutely told her we'd be out before seven.  That's why I go that early.  But, alas she did not.

I'm up, it looks like a nice day.  It took me a while to fall asleep - I probably dozed off around two, which, of course suddenly was three.  But I slept till ten-thirty, which, of course, was really nine-thirty.

I slept very well in Craig's room.  Yogi doesn't snore and he didn't crash into me during the night.  Kitty however woke me up at 5:30 6:30 throwing up on the bed.  I'm now washing the duvet cover I washed yesterday.

We took the dogs for an early walk "before" it rained.  It did rain on us in the beginning and isn't raining now.  Still I'm glad we went when we did as the wind is blowing hard out there.

Thanks for the Japan Society Link, DR Jose.  Looks like that may be a good one to donate to.  I can't donate much, but want to do something

Bruce I think you should speak to the manager of the restaurant.  You might be offered something to return, if not fine.  If nothing else the management knows why you won't be returning.  My experience has been some sort of explanation is offered, especially a regular, is looking at empty tables.  We have also been given a table with a deadline to be out by.  One advantage to that is the service is fast. :)

Has anyone seen Guy Fieri's live show?   I'm trying to decide if it's worth getting a ticket.  Tickets for everything are so expensive these days it isn't that easy to decide what I want to do

I've offered that information and gotten a table.  It doesn't hurt to ask.

A regular priced ticket is $57.50.  That's not bad.  I hadn't eard that price yet, so was really wondering who was going to show up for this.

The funny thing about the Eclectic is they've been doing almost no business the last six months and more.  The ONLY time this has apparently happened is when there's an opening night at the theater where the show was.  The problem is, when you keep out the regulars and don't figure it out, then that opening night fickle crowd never returns.  So, all they really had to do was put us at a table that was being held for a seven o'clock reservation and we would have been out by then.  But instead, they kept the tables empty, lost me, and will go back to business as usual today.

I did a google search for "tour laminate"  looks like it's the laminated thing that you see as a backstage pass that you wear around your neck

Took all the music to Staples for Xeroxing.  I'm still one song short (I need an uptempo Menken song for a guy and I don't love any of the ones I've listened to, save for the ones we already have), and one guest star shy (I want the guest to sing Beauty and the Beast, although I could switch that up).

We just heard from Craig.  He will be heading home in about an hours and should be here by 8:00, weather permitting.  So far the weather is holding & I-5 is clear.

IMHO, good choice.  Unless you are a major fan I'm not sure it is worth it.

Our nephew who's an Air Force search & rescue helicopter pilot stationed in Japan has been sent to the damaged area to offer assistance.  He says "It's what we do."
