Thanks!

I was primed for a huge legal battle! :D

I think my caller ID that says "attorney" in it may have helped avoid that

WOW! It just occurred to me, I can go to movies at night now and not wait to go to a matinee when it's cheaper!

Any time you choose. Except when they're closed. Isn't that fab? I'm happy the passes came through.

Thanks. And since neither the feds or state have passed legislation to pay the money they still owe me, free entertainment is a very welcome thing

Thirty-two bags of trash from the church yard, and I don't think you'd see the difference unless I pointed it out to you.

Can't you get the animal related club next door to take it on as a service project?   Hey it's right near the bar, they just might say yes

Hmmm, I'm considering a movie tonight, but have already agreed to take brother Paul to see CEDAR RAPIDS tomorrow night.  Hey, it's free,.

Think I'll head home.  I stopped at Petco this noon and they had a great sale on cat beds.....the kids will be thrilled.

They don't do any yard work at their place.

The "trash" is the frost-damaged plants that I cut back and stray grasses that came up. It isn't garbage -- just clippings.

John G., I think, mentioned that Mel Gussow wrote ET's obit and here is an article from NPR about that very thing.

Mel and Elizabeth (not Gibson)

Still think it's creepy.

elmore - What time was you dream?  I was sending "patience and financial sense vibes" to you around 1 a.m. so wouldn't that be something if it times out that way?

:)

It was around 4 am or so, DR FJL.

I've just had horrible news. My friend, actress Helen Stenborg, has died at age 86. I dearly loved her and I will miss her enormously.

I found a photo of Helen with Timothy Busfield. I just spoke to her daughter Lauren.

I used to love her on "Another World." Her character was so hateful.

Mr Kaiser has picked up his music and gone. I'm drowning in paper: I have to find my copies of all 102 Herbert songs, 10 cello pieces, and 16 piano pieces. I have this storage carton full of all the music but there are multiple copies of some pieces and I need one copy of each.

Time to order some dinner, too!

I wish I'd seen her on that. She was such a lovely and kind lady. She and Barney were on a fantastic episode of HOMICIDE; it's the only footage I've seen of them together, so I bought the entire season just to have the episode. She's also in the Merchant-Ivory film THE EUROPEANS.

I guess we've really lucked out in the past, but trying to set the rehearsals for this Kritzerland show is a nightmare.  I think we've finally done it, at least I hope so.  I always tell everyone up front what the deal is, they accept, then suddenly it's this and it's that and I guess that's the nature of the beast.  I normally like to do Tuesday and Friday the week before the show, but Tuesday proved impossible and had to move to Monday.

So in that "Audra McDonald to play Bess at A.R.T." story that broke yesterday

http://www.playbill.com/news/article/149072-Audra-McDonald-Reveals-Casting-in-Porgy-and-Bess-at-ART

does this mean they may actually be changing (or supplementing) some of George Gershwin's own melodies and harmonies?

I was just trying to imagine if Julie Taymor had been signed to direct this version.

With the passing of Ms. Taylor, I'm trying to recall what stars are left from Hollywood's Golden Era:

Olivia de Havilland
Joan Fontaine
Luise Rainer
Mickey Rooney
Kirk Douglas
Ann Blyth
Angela Lansbury
Celeste Holm
Jane Powell
Shirley Temple
Eleanor Parker

Anybody else?

Even though she had a fairly short career (last picture in 1949) Deanna Durbin is still alive and living in France.

I agree she should be included on this list.

In today's mail I received a nice surprise - See's Caffe Latte hard candies!  Thank you, dear DR Jane!

Did they arrive in one piece?  Keith thought the envelope I used was too thin.

There are strict instructions with my movie pass about immediate family only.  Since my "immediate family" living here  all have 4 legs, I have adopted Paul as my brother

Odd, about the pass not your adopting Paul.
