DR JMK - my least favorite team is now in first place and the eliminated team has been arguing for a few weeks now.

Next week is the TWO HOUR finale.....for some reason CBS is burning it off in one night.....of course, last night.....with the cowboys gone.....I was a bit uninterested myself.

I am hoping the new first place team self destructs as they deserve to lose big time for the help they scored last week.

And if that's a spoiler, get over it DR's - it's a TV show

With Marge and Luke and the Cowboys gone, my interest in the rest of the season is also null.

No one else stands out for me.....although the sisters and Gary and Mallory would be nice winners.

Monday morning greetings, and thank you, HHW, for being my "breaking news" source with the news about the death of ObL.  I went to bed very early last night and, for some reason looked at last night's posts as soon as I got up about 8 this morning.  Wonderful news, indeed.

I was helping with strike at the theater last night, when Pug, our director, got a text message from a friend of hers.  She just announced out loud, "They got bin Laden!"  People started asking her questions about what happened and she could only say that the President announced that they got bin Laden...her friend didn't text any more information than that.

I was expecting a night of bad dreams when I went to sleep last night, but instead I had an oddly pleasant one.  It was more of a memory dream--something I actually remember happening:  it was back in the 70's and my sister and I were watching an ABC Movie of the Week about a beauty pageant.  One of the contestants in the movie had a hidden agenda--she was a "woman's libber" who planned on disrupting the nationally televised pageant with a speech that condemned the sexism of the ceremony.  Well, of course, she wound up being crowned the winner and instead of delivering her speech found herself being swept up in the moment and wholeheartedly accepted her new role.  My sister was furious at this and went into her own diatribe about how implausible it all was.  And in my dream, just as I did back then, I sat back smiled and took a certain delight in how a simple TV movie could have such an effect on a person.  Not a very dramatic dream but a very satisfying one.

My eldest sister believes she has "travel karma," by which she means every time she leaves to go somewhere, something "big" happens in the news.  Her trips out here from the east coast have included 9/11 and two major earthquakes/tsunamis.  Guess who left for China last night?  :)

Interesting.

Happy Birthday DR FJL

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMV1IwYYSpg

Thanks, Jrand.  Skip is baking a cake, and I'm sure that's not a harbinger of what's to come.

Or an Ebinger, for that matter

:)  I'm looking forward to your cake report.

Well, Pam Myers was in the original Company singing Another Hundred People and she also was in the first Kritzerland at the Gardenia.  She's tops.  Janie Sell also did a lot of B'way shows.

From DR TCB:
Quote
I have never heard of Oxygen Bleach is that a Canadian product?

I don't think so.  It is an environmentally friendly product.  I haven't begun looking for it locally but I suspect it won't be too difficult to find.  I'll let you know unless you look before I do.

Of course, I have a Janie Sell parody and a Pam Myers parody - doesn't everyone?

OVER HER (based on OVER HERE),

Now we’re here singing and we’re dancing to that Sherman score
Huffin’ and a-wheezin’  til we can’t take no more
But all our hard work has gotten shot right to hell
‘Cause of that young siren known as Janie Sell

We give our all
And what a switch
Critics all went flacky-wacky over that b*tch

We're over her, oo-oobli-poo
We hate her guts ‘cause she's stealing our show
We're over her, oo-oobli-poo
She makes us nuts and we wish she would blow

While Miss Sell steals scenes so sweetly
We sisters are completely
Over her
Oo-oo-oobli-poo

We hate her
Can’t tell you how much we hate her
All the critics want to date her
We’re getting’ bored
Watch her win our Tony award

We’re over her, oo-oobli-poo
We thought this show’s a big comeback for us
We’re over her, oo-oobli-poo
The hatred grows as they’re makin’ a fuss

Though we’ll do our bis-tu-shein-ing
You’ll hear us both complaining
We’re over her
Oo-oo-oobli-poo!

And not a Pam Myers spoof per se, but one of her great roles, reacting to the recent COMPANY concert ticket situation

alternate lyric, tune of "Another Hundred People"

Another hundred donors just got off of the phone
And paid plenty of dough
While another hundred donors just got off of their butts
And their seats are so-so
As another hundred donors who love Patti LuPone
Now are starting to futz
With their cute little phone
‘Cause Colbert got their butts
Into gear today

It’s a city of patrons
Some love LuPone / and the play
A city of patrons
Some love Colbert / so they pay
And so today
We call and say:

Please find me tickets in the crowded loge or the upper tier,
If it’s Avery Fisher, no I do not mind a side aisle in the rear
It’s Colbert and Patti, we just want to be there, we don’t have to hear

We don’t need the party, ‘cause it’s too expensive so I’m saying no
Oh, I lost my job, but though it's tough all over we just have to go
Yes I know it's sounding like I like to moan
Would you take a check, my Visa’s maxed out to the bone
And I know last year I spent more and I do not like your tone

And another hundred donors just got off of the phone (5x)

Three damned hours at the NYU Dental cinic, mainly because my dentist has to have faculty check the work and it was several long waits. I had wanted to be home before rush hour got terrible and, because it took three hours for my appointment, it took another damned hour to get home.

I love my dentist but I am not amused.

I hadn't logged onto HHW for a few days,  and I think that I may have missed Vixmom's birthday (at least I know I wished her a happy birthday on Facebook...presumably it really was her birthday)...

so....an official HHW birthday wish from me to Vixmom.
