Back from a dee-lightful lunch and a trip to Staples for unicorn blood printer ink and to the grocery for fruits and vegetables and a pork roast for tonight's dinner.

Oh!!

Yesterday afternoon, the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck hosted a "Guest Intern": Ottavia Bourdain. Ottavia is the husband of chef/author/TV personality Anthony Bourdain. And since Tony happened to have a book-signing at the Union Square Barnes & Noble last night, he dropped by before he headed over...

The Bourdains at The BGICT

*Best of all, all proceeds from yesterday went to Doctors Without Borders, and Mr. Bourdain matched all the proceeds and tips.

Ottavia is the husband of chef/author/TV personality Anthony Bourdain??

BK Question:

Will you be doing any shows in October? I am on the look out for something fun to take Laurie Mitchell to see while I am down there. Last time we saw LIL ABNER on stage, which was great fun. I would love to take her to see one of the Gardenia shows.

There will indeed be a Gardenia show in October, whatever the first Wednesday is.

Oh pooh. That is two days before I arrive in town.

Finished with our little mini-rehearsal - Kim was great, as always, and the thirteen-year-old did her homework and was faboo - she's something else, this girl.  I think it will get a huge laugh when we do the Big Spender vamp and she gives her sly smile, followed by a sly eyebrow raise on the second Big Spender vamp, then launching into Hey There Good Times - really funny.

I have returned from our rehearsal with an opening number to lay out. I will have to recopy some sections now that keys have been set, and there will be some some cutting and pasting, but it should go rather quickly. It is a long medley composed of these:
Bright Morning Stars Are Rising (sunrise on Christmas morning - the hostess/ family matriarch)
People, Look East (Della getting her family ready)
16 bars of "West Virginia Mine Disaster" (widowed Mamie dressing her autistic son)
Dame, Get Up and Bake Your Pies (the hosts in the kitchen)
There Was a Pig Went Out To Dig (Jarrod Emick and his children gettng ready)
Sing, All Men/Ring the Christ Church Bells (the new minister, leading into the company's arrival)

We began the morning with a new funny song, written by David Lutken and our director DJ called "Snowman on the Mountain," and it's a hoot. The read-down of the new choral parts for "I Wonder As I Wander" read down well, and I'm starting to feel that we will have a good presentation for Friday morning. The cast is truly an amazing group of performers and musicians. I like all thirteen of them enormously.

How does that Majority Leader ass Eric Cantor, the Republican fool representing Virginia, live with himself?

I finished my proofreading for the day.

I have another 35=40 pages to go, but I'm getting tired, so I'll probably finish tomorrow.

Back from a bacon cheeseburger and a few onion rings, picking up one package, and I've just done some writing, but on my solo project - rewriting, actually.  It's right now and I'm very pleased.  I'll jump over to the other project after I relax for a spell.

I did not walk in the rain today.  Instead i left sherlock at home and went with keith to the gym & used the treadmill.   While i was there i got a 15 minute chair massage.  I could have used an hour one.

Prink.  In the old days, Pogue would have so much fun playing along, but Pogue Doesn't Live Here Anymore - he's a Facebook exclusive now.

I find it easy to do both FB & HHW.  Sometimes they cross in terms of conversation but mostly it is different.

OK, here we are, back in the basement.  Rob is with us tonight and there's some comfort in being here with a priest and a paramedic.
