I'm on my second cup of coffee and starting to wake up. I'll have some cereal and head down to 23rd Street.

BK, the Tony Awards are June 12th.

Didn't they always used to be the first Sunday in June?

The Kritzerland at the Gardenia 10 show was wonderful last night! I noticed it was a little shorter show than usual, running only 75 minutes, instead of the usual 90, so I was a little disappointed when Bruce said, "And for the last song of the evening...". I kept waiting to hear "You're Nothing Without Me" from "City of Angels" since that can be such a funny song, but Mark reminded me that Bruce is always aiming for the more obscure songs. Still, I was surprised it was omitted, but all the songs chosen were great. I was going to comment that this was the very first Kritzerland at the Gardenia show we attended where no one forgot any lyrics! But now I know the truth - they just covered really well. During, "Hey There Good Times" I kept thinking, wow, that's a lot of lyrics for a little girl to memorize - the song is very fast and very wordy and I kept waiting for her to flub, but she sang the whole thing from beginning to end splendidly, even if she did reverse two verses. I did notice Alet sang, "the WRONG way to play a fool" and I think maybe that was supposed to be "the RIGHT way to play a fool." But she was hilarious nonetheless. Andy Taylor came out wearing very bright blue eye glasses for "Real Live Girl" and I kept staring at them thinking, who would go to the optometrist and choose glasses like that?! But then he wasn't wearing them for the other songs he did, so I realized they were just gag for that particular song. Well, it worked on me - he looked like quite the nerd, and the song was very funny. On the way there, Mark and I were trying to figure out which Target we should stop at on the way home. We have three bathrooms in our house and only one of them had toilet paper. Well, we looked up from the Gardenia marquis and there was the big bullseye logo. So, we were able to walk across the street and buy our much-needed TP, and the weather was still warm for a nice stroll.

re: that interview link in French with Bradley Cooper. Wow, he was much more fluent than i thought he would be. I was impressed. But what was up with that lady interviewing him?  She was speaking very fast and not even using easy words. You'd think that she would consider that he wasn't speaking in his first language!

KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN was one of the first musicals I saw that made me love musical theatre (I'd already seen LES MIS, CATS and PHANTOM). But the tour of SPIDERWOMAN came to Montreal with Chita Rivera. And I was completely mesmerized by it. Loved it!

Lucky for me, the camera seems to be an anti-dinosaur device.

...And I believe The Tony Awards moved a week later this year since this past season "officially" ran 53 weeks instead of 52 weeks. It's sort of like a theatrical leap year.

As for The Topic of the Day...

Besides the ones already mentioned, there's a song called "Monopoly". I'm not sure if it was a cut song or just a one-off, but it's a very cute song.

I see I've got a lot of Kander and Ebb listening to do - hope I can find all these songs.  May need some mp3 help at some point.

I'm up with less than six hours of sleep, but hopefully I can rest a little later.  I keep breaking my don't eat pepperoni late at night rule and I really mustn't.

Greetings from Toyland! All is well and I am out of here.

The copy service provided by the management of the McGlinnventory office space was pathetic, a really poor job and we have to redo about half the chorus books and several principal books. I am not amused by the incompetency.
