I had a very long, drawn out dream last night. I was at either an ancient history museum or some odd, spacious store and I was there to see an appearance by Mr Stephen Sondheim. While the crowd waited, there was a monitor that was showing very short clips of plays which I didn't recognize and actors I didn't know. I grew bored watching, so wandered around the museum/store, which had a odd mix of displays--parts of human skeletons and bright, colorful posters of old B'Way musicals. When Mr Sondheim finally appeared, he looked like he had been a prisoner in the Bastille--he had long dirty grey hair and a long scraggly beard. From what I could pick out of talk in the crowd, it was because he had some kind of legal problems and he was trying to alter his look so he couldn't easily be picked out of a line-up. Anyway, I don't recall what Mr. Sondheim talked about but there was a Q&A afterwards. I asked him what he thought about the BOOK OF MORMON score. As he answered, I realized that he was stating my own exact opinion of the score, almost word for word. It was at that point that I knew I was dreaming and I woke up.
