Hi everyone.  I'm heading up north (3 hours  north or so) to check out a possibility of a DD to add to my new household.  I'll let you know how it pans out.

I'm off.

For a second I thought "DD" stood for "Dear Date". ::)

DR Jose, do you know this fantastic book about the making of the show? No one really knws how much of the Dream Ballet was done by whom. The original Hammerstein ballet called for a circus, with Aunt Eller as a bareback rider, as I recall, and DeMille told Hammerstein, "No young lady has a stupid dream like this; they dream about sex." She was contractually required to use music from the score, but she didn't bring Trude Rittmann in as dance arranger until her next show, "One Touch of Venus."

Russell Bennett most assuredly did a lot of the work on the ballet, since he scored it, but I think a lot of it was cobbled together for DeMille by her rehearsal pianist, whose name I've forgotten. He might be mentioned on one of the videos from North Carolina School of the Arts and he might also be mentioend in Steve Suskins book, since there's a lot in it about "Laurie Makes Up Her Mind."

DR elmore - I actually have both of those books... In storage. Hmm... -Thanks for the "reminder". ;)

I'm really wondering more about some of the reharmonizations of the tunes than anything else.

I don't think this transfer is such a done deal yet - there are no producers named and no one seems to know where the dough is coming from.  And a six month limited run?  For Follies?  There is no way it would be anything but a total washout, financially, so unless they've got a benefactor who doesn't mind losing a few mil, then I'd wait for another announcement with more details.

Not that they're the official word, but Playbill.com has announced it...but then the article says:

Quote
Dates, Broadway casting and ticket information will be announced soon. The New York Times reports that the New York production will also feature a 28-piece orchestra and will likely run through the winter holidays. Contract talks with the actors have yet to begin.

Well... From what I've "heard", the run would start in the late summer - last week of August, or even just after Labor Day weekend, and run thru the New Year.

Now if this does happen, I'm wondering if they will end up Mormon-izing their ticket prices. ???

As Betsy will attest, I have an infallible Mormonometer.  They don't even have to be wearing their little blue suits with white shirts and name tags.  :)

Yes and No. I always seem to catch the midweek reruns and/or weekend marathons. I will say, I am wondering just how far "model girl with the accent" will go.

Now "Chopped" is a different story. I never miss an episode. Nor a rerun. ;)

*Oh, one reason I will catch "TNFNS" is for Alton Brown - especially since he has "retired", after 249 episodes, "Good Eats". He'll still film some "Good Eats" specials, but no more new "Good Eats" episodes.

Finished one motion picture and am starting another.  Tomorrow is becoming insane.  Rehearsal in the morning, and then I have to go directly to the lab to transfer reel one of Nudie - this is our test reel and will tell us exactly how much time and work is involved from here on in.  If it's nutty, I may have to try and raise some dough on kickstarter.com to help offset what could be a very expensive deal.  It would be a way for folks to help preserve the film, and we'd give all donors a big thank you on the blu-ray.  Thinking about it, but hopefully it won't have to go there.

Since getting an almost full night's sleep last night did such wonders for me today, I'm going to attempt to do the same thing tonight. -Especially since I want to try to get in earlier tomorrow.

Goodnight.

Thank you to DRs Cillaliz and Jose for the vibes.

My cousin went directly to the hospital upon arrival from GA and I think he was quite stunned.  He called about  7:30 and said, "A priest might come in handy," so Richard, Rob, and I all went.  My cousin's wife is driving in from GA tomorrow and my cousin from Japan is flying in and I suspect there will be some decisions made about discontinuing life support after their arrival.

Your continued vibes and prayers are greatly appreciated.
