The signing was really fun - maybe my fave of all of them. We had about twenty-five people, including some folks I didn't know at all. I read a bit, I answered questions, we had CAKE, I signed (we not only sold the new book, but also the first book in the series and a Benjamin Kritzer even). I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, and then there were the folks I didn't know at all.

DR Ginny I'm very pleased the day went well, also that you heard from your aunt's ex. My sister's ex was at both my father's funeral and at my sister's. When we do family activities with my brother we always invite his ex.

Thanks, DR Jane. My aunt was quite bitter about her ex and for close to 30 years our only contact with him was through my cousins. I missed him terribly.

Everyone else, especially her children, were happy to have him there. Will shall see him soon at my niece's wedding since he is her father. I don't necessarily miss him either. My brother's ex I look forward to seeing.

Bruce, if I can make the trip to L.A. I will be staying with my brother & not in the valley. The valley friend will have gone to San Clemente to set up for the bridal shower which leaves me without a way to get there unless I skip LA & fly in and out of John Wayne.

T.O.D.

In January of 95 my sister and I decided not to be in town for the first anniversary of our mom's death. So my sister, her husband, my friend Tracy, and I took off for a Mexican Cruise. In Mazatlan, we lucked out with this incredible tour guide. He was not only a great guide, he was gorgeous as well. Among the four of us, I think my brother-in-law was the only one of us that wasn't drooling over him. Anyway, he took us to this incredible restaurant on the beach where we a great seafood meal!

Other than that, I love several of the Mexican places here in town. Great American Mexican food... tacos, enchiladas, rice, and beans

I never had to worry about that. My mom hated my wife.

Today we had the weirdest day, weather-wise. Yesterday we had a warm spring day with temps around 70. Today it was drizzly, overcast, and we had lots of local fog all day. I don't remember ever having afternoon fog in June.

Tomorrow is my sister's 64th birthday. I will call her at about 9:30 in the morning and sing Happy Birthday to her, and that will be that. of course, it is also my sister and her husband's anniversary, and it is Father's Day. My sister doesn't know that next Wednesday I am leaving work early to join her and friends for a birthday lunch.

It was my boss's cousin that was struck and killed in Brooklyn by that man that went on the killing spree becasue his step-father wouldn't let him borrow the family Lexus.
