I saw William Daniels onstage in 1776 and was completely captivated.

I think it was probably the first Broadway tour I saw, unless I saw ZORBA first, but I don't think so.

I am so friggin' sick of this Anthony trial I can't stand it, and it's all that's on on all of the news channels.  Surely there is something other going on than a "verdict watch" clock counting the time.  Ridiculous.

I really, really, really need to get more sleep. I get to the point where I'm barely functional. I do all the right things, but between the noise and my occasional insomnia...well, I just don't get enough sleep. Ugh!

DR ELMORE and DR JMK - that's just how it....and he.....strike me.....I have never worked on a production of the show, nor seen a production of it, other than the film.....so perhaps my opinion will change in the future....but for now....no.

No more captivated than he was by his performance, I am sure.

TOD: When I was a kid, my family went to Germany to visit Mom's side of the family. While we were there, we were in Heidelberg on the Fourth. There was a tremendous fireworks display, largely for the American troops and their families, and it was set off against the backdrop of the castle ruins. It was spectacular. Haven't seen the likes of it sense.

I'm surprised to hear this, but it was a nice gesture. I really liked Heidelberg.

Perhaps I will force Gabe to watch 1776.  I tried to force both boys to watch OLIVER! years ago and they've refused to come close to a musical ever since.  ;)
I bought that DVD to be able to watch on the Fourth, but I won't have time today. That's too bad.

we are watching JOHN ADAMS

Ah, but how about the "JOHN & ABIGAIL ADDAMS FAMILY" theme, which I trot out every year for the second year in a row

In the spirit of 1776, hope it's OK to bring out this oldie, which assumes a knowledge of the lyrics to "Yours Yours Yours" from "1776"

Thanks if you have time to include this in your July 4 celebration, (it's under 90 seconds)

I went passed TCM very quickly and had the misfortune to see some of Mr William Daniels in the worst excuse for a musical ever written....1776.

UGH!

I cannot believe you think that!
There are far worse musicals, many of which have run longer, too. O! Calcutta! comes to mind. Starlight Express.

In my collection, I can see titles like "Ankles Aweigh" and "The Athenian Touch," which were certainly less well written. Even "The Worst" is worse.

Unlike MBarnum, I found Jim Mitchum's performance in No Hotlinking Please to be sadly lacking.  But then I'm not a fan of gay porn.  :)

Porn?  on the 4th of July?

:)

Did the four-mile jog - oy and vey.  Printed out more orders - not bad for a holiday day, but hopefully there will be lots more later and tomorrow.

Safe travel vibes for Betsy and Zach, who will soon be winging their way back home.

I second that!

Third it!

Awaiting the arrival of the thirteen-year-old and her folks.  I'll judge whether we should do any rehearsing at all, or just let her mark stuff for movement purposes.
