We're actually making great progress so far. There have been a few very minor tweaks here and there, but, all in all, we've basically just been running the show in costumes, with lights and sound for the first time.

I don't care for the blue sparkly covers.  It is too busy (not bright, just busy).  The title is lost and even though I know the chorus girl is there, it is difficult to find.

Actually, I like  this one the best, but you need soemthing on the steps, possibly the reviews.  If you use those, then you need something (a change of font or color) so that the cast stands out more on the top.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I have a lot of puttering to do this week to get ready to accompany Fr. Richard to the annual church synod next week.

Synod?  I didn't know you were Jewish.

I'm a little verklempt--the French magazine with an article on my Dad just arrived.  It is a really beautifully designed mag, all glossy pages, elegant illustrations.

SELF-ISH PLUG TIME:

For those DRs in the DC area and their family friends - or for those DRs thinking of heading to DC, previews for Oklahoma! at Arena Stage start this Friday, July 8. Some of the preview performances are already sold out, but for those that aren't, tickets are just $46 or $56.

And for performances after Opening Night, Arena has various Savings Programs. Discounts are available for Students, Residents of SW DC and Patrons 30-and-Under. Additionally, Arena also offers same day rush tickets through their 1/2-price HOTTIX program.

END OF SELF-ISH PLUG ;)

I am leaving for my doctor's office in about a half hour.  I don't know if I will be back today or in the hospital or maybe a nursing home.  We shall see.

We will be back in the city tonight. We are leaving after dinner.

I got an eye exam (hadn't been in 11 years, I thought it was time to go again). I will pick up my new glasses next Friday. I really like the frames and the price was great. 11 years ago I spent over $600 for glasses and I swore I would not do that again this time.

I like this one the best. I find the "snowman" distracting and didn't realize what it was at first. I don't care for the "cone" or the empty steps. I agree with Vixmom and others about the nudes; much better without them.

I recently spent $1200 on a new pair of glasses--and can't even see properly with them. I dread going back to the optometrist; I told him at the time that I didn't think the new Rx was right, but he insisted it was. He's a very nice man, but DIDN'T LISTEN!!

I prefer this one  but I would remove the title of the show from below the chorus girl

In my opinion the small bright "spotlight" on top of the larger less bright spotlight in 1-3  gives a "snow man" look which i find  distracting and makes it difficult to see the chorus girl properly

I didn't even think about the spotlights and the "snow man" effect...now that I see that (on my original choice), I also find it very distracting.  I think that I like this one (above) more.

TOD: The original versions of "Freaky Friday" and "The Parent Trap."

Ditto to both of these...and "Modern Family."

After wating an hour and fifteen minutes past my appointment time, I asked them to reschedule me and left. There's been no sign of a postal carrier today - our regular postman is on vacation for 3 (!!!) weeks -  and so I went searching; she's shooting the shit down at the corner building on the other side of the street, meaning the carrier still has the rest of the other side of 82nd Street to finish before she gets to my side of the street. I doubt she'll finish the route until long after she's gone into overtime. And the PO bitches about costs while they employ fools wasting their time and money. Goddam.

Back from some HHW time-travel.  On my basement cardio walk today, I'd listened to The Brain from Planet X, so I had to go back and read through the posts for the week or so that many of us gathered in NYC to see it.  Fun times!

Good Afternoon!

We broke for lunch/dinner at 4:00.

I had my lunch/dinner - a nice sensible green salad with grilled chicken.

And then I took a cat nap in one of the very comfy(!) chairs in the lounge.

And we'll definitely be getting through the rest of the show before we break for the day at 11:00pm. :)
