Shayne, the link you provided to the "Montreal cast singing the title song" is just one of several audio clips on their site taken from OUR cast album.  Surprised that elmore wasn't curious enough to listen and to realize what was what.

I thought it was. It sounded just too familar.

Perhaps he's been busy with other things this morning?

I don't know, anytime you'd have the chance to hear what a band is doing with your orchestrations I would have thought you would have clicked on it so fast that it would have made Linda Blair's head spin. :)

It's a Minor Miracle Department:  I know many of you are sweltering, but Portland looks to finally climb above 80 today.  That's a good thing for us.

Congrats!

I have gone to the farmers market, the grocery store, got gas for the car and now I"m home for the day.  We're back in a heat advisory, so this is where I plan to stay.

I did buy some panko.  I've never used it, but they use it on Chopped and Next Food Network Star, so I decided to try to try it out.

I think someone used it in meatloaf, but it looks like a good breading to me

Amy Winehouse is dead.  Sadly, no surprise.

Cilla Panko is better than bread crumbs, IMHO.  I think you will be pleased with it.

We were out for a bit and like Cilla, we are back inside for the day.

It wasn't as bad as yesterday but its still brutal out there. I have no plans to go out for the rest of the day.

Thanks Jane.  I keep hearing raves about it on different Food TV shows, so I'm looking forward to trying it

I knew there couldn't be a band if they were still in rehearsal.

I am back from brunch with Sue at Olive, An Urban Dive and a continuation of our visit at 2nd Street Market.  The restaurant was a bit pricey for Dayton, but the food was good and the people were friendly.  The market was a great place to visit, but too hot - I'll take Richard there when it's 20-30 degrees cooler...

As much as I enjoyed living on the East Coast, I just don't think I could do that again! Ugh!

All of our Borders stores have already closed. I was so sorry to hear that. I had looked forward to visiting the Westwood Borders. Too late. And that was months ago.

I, too, am having problems sleeping. A neighbor of mine and I both complained to the manager about the young couple next to me (and above him). They've been quieter since the manager spoke to them, but last night they had guests again and didn't quiet down until after midnight. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but the neighbor on the other side gets up early and his rattling around wakes me up. I think the "youngsters" would be happier in a building with lots of students. There are plenty of them around here. Some days, like today, I'm so tired I can barely function. Some people say that as you get older you need less sleep. Hasn't happened to me! I NEED sleep!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz to our DRs who, like me, are sleep-deprived.

Yes, TCB, very sad about Amy Winehouse. Twenty-seven is pretty young to self-destruct. Of course, there may have been other issues. In any case, very sad.

Oh, forgot to mention that I read the first two Claude Izner novels. The first was a bit weak; the second was better. Nevertheless, they are charming stories of 1890's (or so) Paris.

DR Jeanne - thanks for the comment about the Izner novels.  I read the first one and only at the very end did I think maybe I'd give the second one a try.  Haven't gotten to that yet.
