Congrats to DR CILLA LIZ.

Thanks JRand and FJL.  It was one of those cases where my client seemed so sure we were going to win and I wasn't quite as sure as she was.  It was a relief to have this one behind me

I do agree that people on cell phones can be annoying and disruptive.  I also agree with Vixmom.  I cut slack if you turn it right off, if you talk in an inapproprite place, I think that's just wrong.

Good news!  I just received this exciting new job offer:

"Good day! The Aulogistic Inc is pleased to offer you a well-paid work.
We have reviewed your personal information, and make a design - you are the right person to become our employee.

Please kindly send your respond."

I had indeed been hoping for a well paid work - I am so happy they made the design to hire me --- I will of course immediately send out my respond

It's been a long day.  Tomorrow morning I'm getting my AC serviced.  I bought a service contract from Edith's husband who works for a local HVAC place.  If you have a service contract, they don't charge emergency fees if they have to come out in the middle of the night in the winter..

Well, I knew I couldn't contribute to this project right now.

But why not look anyway?  A lot of people didn't contribute but had nice things to say about the footage and the way it was working.

Back from some dinner.  Rehearsal was mostly great today.  One performer was not on their game because I think this performer has a "process."  In these shows, I'm really not interested in processes or deep acting - I'm interested in good singers letting the song do its job and them do theirs.  When you start adding a bunch of sturm und drang on top of all that, a) it's oppressive, b) our audiences don't respond to it, and c) it's not in step with the other performers are doing.

So, after we were done, I had the performer stay and we talked at length about it and the performer was very understanding and got what I was saying right away and then did the three songs again and it was a thousand percent better.  Hopefully, that will retain until the show.

Today I had a cancellation of removal hearing in Omaha.  We win my client gets a green card.  We lose, after 18 years in the US she would be deported to Guatemala.   We won.

Excellent news!
Great, great news.

Topic of the Day:

I only have a cell phone.  I gave up my land line several years ago.  I have a bluetooth earphone for when I'm driving (don't hate me ;)) and I find it no more distracting than speaking with someone sitting next to me.  All I have to do when I get a call is push one button on the earpiece and speak.  Even though I have my phone on most of the time, I always turn it off when I go to the movies or a live show, ESPECIALLY when I'm ushering.  It's become a habit to turn it off or at lease set the ringer to vibrate.  It very muchly bothers me when people are using their phones in any capacity at the movies or in a theater.

One time I was ushering for a local show (friends of mine were in the cast) and a cell phone went off in the row right in front of me!  The person quickly tried to turn it off (certainly not quickly enough) and it turned out that he was the husband of one of the actresses in the show!  He should've known better! >:(
I wish I only had one phone, but if I drop the landline, then I will have slower internet service. And for classes and the website, it's slow enough as it is. Tonight, it cut off in the middle of a story and caused a 20-minute delay. Agh.

I'm much like Druxy.

I don't have a clue what my cell phone number is other than the area code.

I have put a post-it on the back with the phone number written out.

I do know how to dial voice mail (I hate that I can't delete a voice message unless I listen to it because 99.99% of the time it's a wrong number).

Anthony has my cell phone number and I have his (my sister in Minnesota also has the number but she knows not to call it because the phone will be off more than it's on).

I will use it this weekend when I'm in Michigan from Friday to Sunday but that's it. I may use it to call Hertz if if my flight is delayed. I will have a GPS with the rental car so I won't need to call for directions.

I do take it when I go to midtown to the theatre. If there is a problem getting home I may call Anthony to tell him of the delay but otherwise it's off from the time I get to the theatre to the time I leave the theatre.

I HATE, HATE, HATE texts. I know it's the way most people communicate now but I also tell people not to text me. I will delete a text unread. I have a very low-end pay as you go phone with a number-based keyboard. Trying to send a text (even using ? r u?) is tedious and not worth the time AND  every text eats up minutes in my pay as you go plan. I don't consider texting part of "my plan"

End of rant.
Bless you for that rant. I HATE, HATE, HATE text messages, too. If I receive one, I just ignore it.

Good Evening!

We had a very good show, and a very good audience. -And on a Tuesday night too! It was a very nice way to start the week.

And since a number of people celebrate their birthdays in August - myself included - there was a cake and candles in the green room at the 15-minute call.

Sam hasn't been here for days.  Perhaps she's had a relapse and is with the bad boy again.  If true, not healthy.

Oh, and I got a nice e-mail from the fellow who's overseeing the authoring of the blu-ray saying he thought the restoration looked "amazing."  Since he's the first to see it, that made me very happy.
