"This too shall pass" department.
A few weeks back, Woody received an urgent plea from a coworker who had an about to be trailer dispossed friend who was moving in with her daughter. Daughter's apartment had a no-dogs policy and the friend needed a temporary home for her dog, or she (the dog) would have to be dropped off at the pound from which she would likely never return.
Begrudgingly, I said OK - for a short while.
We went to greet the young lady (the dog) and she was a very friendly one year old face-licking pit bull. As we loaded her into the car her owner remarked, "Oh, buy the way, she's in heat!"
BY THE FRIGGIN' WAY !!!!!
Naturally the dog had neither shots nor license. The very next day she (the dog) had an encounter with our Bonnie which I had to break up and Bonnie was left nursing a bloody neck (Fortunately just skin punctures). Buster refuses to acknowledge the effects of his puppy surgery and followed the randy bitch everywhere trying to do that which he could not.
She really is a nice dog, just very protective and short tempered. She wants to be the center of attention (a typical pittie behavior). The owners have promised quite a few times to pick her up and place her elsewhere. They made another promise to get her this evening.
Actually, she has been behaving better and learning to share a bit with the other dogs. Fletcher (the dalmatian) thinks she's great fun and wants to play.

They called her Diamond, which we shorted to Di, and that has morphed into Dinah.
der Brucer
Maybe I'll put her in a crate and send her to Laura
